Ballasts... whats what??..help please.

Hey,
ive just got an old ballast of a friend to replace the one that has failed me.

..... and if im being honest... ive no clue how to wire it... or even which components are which.


If somebody knows how to wire one of these things...or at least knows which parts are which i would greatly appreciate it

I know lol. i think ive found what bits are which...

transformer = yellow block
capacitors = 2 cylinders
and ignighter - the other cylinder

..... but y does my ballast have 2 capacitors????

man you know if that doesn't hook up right, that could course a major electrical fault, and if your using a high watt hps bulb, say bye bye to your home, because the bulb will explode and catch fire

thats why im trying to get information on 'how to hook to up right'.

ive seen it working and it looks fine.... but i decided to put new connections on them with wire nuts.... without remembering were the wires went lol.

dude mine looks exactly like yours, all wires n shit everywhere but i'm trying to get rid of it, no one will even take it off me and i'm offering it away for free! with a 400watt hps bulb!

if ya not sure what your doing just take it to a hydro store they will do it for ya. or read this link.

mine does and i duno why or how to wire em

finished. Just wired it and had it on for an hour in the shed with me staying close to the cut-off switch lol. cheers for every1s help.

if you read my link you can also use the ballast as a mh ballast also. make it switchable
