ballasts??

I have a 1000 watt switchable balast m.h/h.p.s. I have my h.p.s. bulb but am looking for a 1000 watt metal halide bulb, but those are more expensive than h.p.s. bulbs. I saw 400 watt m.h. bulbs for 20 bucks on ebay, my question is will my 1000 watt balast overpower the 400 watt bulb. Or will i have better results just using H.P.S. only throughout my entire grow. thanks CW

i would not put a light and a ballast of different wattage's together.

That would be a great way to lose a crop and start a fire. Stick with the 1000W bulb with matching ballast.

the bulb is rated for 400 watts and u cant run it on a 1000 watts it will surely blow bulb so a $20 plus shipping down drain bite the bullet u will have to get the 1000 watter
