Hey guys I'm having problems with my LSD that is going on week 9 of flowering. The colas are getting big but one of them aren't filling in. The average temperatures in my tent are 80 degrees right now with the 2 600w HPS lights on. I'm currently using home made 5 gallon Global Buckets that feed from a 1 gallon reservoir on the bottom. I've been feeding them just plain water since they started to show signs of nute burn. My last harvest I flushed the plants and they foxtailed real bad after the flush so the buds turned out real fluffy. Should I add some Big Bud to the water to get the calyxes to fill out more? And also they aren't producing much trichs as they used to when I first started growing this strain. The pistils are still white so maybe I'm guessing I have 2 weeks left before harvest? I'm kind of disappointed because in the past my LSD buds weren't that big but the buds were covered in trichs and were a lot more dense. This is probably the first time I've gotten the buds to this size so I'm happy but worried that they won't fill in the spaces between the calyxes and turn out airy again.

This LSD plant is doing okay with filling in just not enough trichs.

This LSD plant has big buds but lots of air pockets between the calyxes. Thanks for your help in advance.

Add time and patience. For absolute best the fastest add a MH light. Increases THC but UV protective glass must be removed to be effective. Or HPS - any light, just pour it to it.

also barnys strains to struggle with constancy, imo and experience this happens no matter what u do, i get one out of Evey 10 seeds or so i get from nirvana
also some phenos have faster root development, wich can lead to the plant been slightly root bound, so during the stretch it will concentrate on vertical growth only, while the other will to but also on width to, so slightly stretching further than the other phenos that are the same, ive noticed to when this happens they don't fill out as much as the others and seem to be a week or so behind the others

that is one skinny bud.
change to metal halide lamps on the last week of harvest, remember in nature the sun is a nice orangy glow in summer low in the sky but as the cannabis plant ends its life cycle the sun is coming in to winter soon before the plant dies when the winter sun is higher in the sky and the atmosphere changes the colour on the planet to a more colder blue light, this light will give you a lot of trichs in the last week.

use dual spectrum hps lamps during flower, these lights stop plant stretch and they fill out like mad with huge fat flowers.
i have tried many dual spectrum bulbs but find the grolux 600w bulb the best.

i grow barneys farm lsd all the time, i have 19 plants on the go they are 3 weeks old today from the seed on 3/9/12 (9/3/12 usa) but i grow my plants organically in canna professional plus soil and canna professional soil with a mix of perlite and vermiculite. i do add nutrients but i use ionic growth technology nutes which are for growing food stuffs in hydro mucks up my ph a bit but i adjust to 6.5.
so my grow will be a bit slower than yours.

remember that night temps can make a difference to a grow.

i find 19c-20c (66f-68f) to be the best.
i use a computerised temp controller to control my night temps and i leave a circulating fan on through the night.
remember plants transpire co2 during the day but transpire air at night, it is a completely different environment for them and they are very much awake during night as in day,
i have found if my night temps go below 18 and with no circulating air my plants look sickly and droopy in the morning when the lights come on.
when the temps are 20c with circulating air my plants leaves are pointing to the sky in the morning, meaning a very happy plant.
i have my day temps at 26c (79f) also with a computerised temp controller which switches all in line duct fans on at 26.5c and back off at 25.5c and this is a constant thing that is done with the relays in the computer usually they are on about 10 minutes and off about 10 minutes and are off at night. when the temps reach 19c at night the computer turns its small 80 watt pipe heater on and at 20.5c turns a small inline fan on which feeds the plants fresh air for about a minute. and off again for about 15 minutes.
my buds are always big fatties. but i only bother about the main top kolas and they have to be big.
i flush all plants half way through the grow and feed fresh drinking water at 19c 6.5ph the last week of feed.
you can also leave them in the dark for 24 hours last couple of days this also helps the trichs.
remember no matter where you are on the planet the days get shorter in winter.

funny i just germinated 20 barneys farm lsd seeds and 19 germinated.

and they are growing like hell.
i had a problem with my 50 litre canna pro plus soil, this soil is so fucking rich that gnats grow in it before you open the bag and put it in the pot.

i put a 1 inch layer of perlite on the top of the soil for 1 week to kill off the gnat life cycle.
this tends to worsen the oxygen levels in the pot and slows growth a little but after 1 week when you remove the perlite the plants grow like fucking crazy, you cant slow them down.

Not saying duds haven't been sent out by Barney's. But you do not get that big and well-known and win cups (not going there but people like the smokes) by being losers. I think some breeders rush to release strains that competitors have an answer for. Like cars or electronics. Stick with a breeders' known producing strains and help avoid frustration and disappointment.

I took a chance and ordered 10 Vertigo seeds from Paradise. Can't find anything other than the article I read naming the top 10 kickass auto strains for potency and Vertigo was number 5 on the list. All 6 that I planted popped within days in rockwool and are in a DWC. We'll see if they turn weird. If they do I'll chastise Paradise for releasing a strain they have not yet attained some level of stability in. Otherwise all 6 hatched. I would definitely buy a strain from Paradise simply based on 100% germination of very nice looking healthy seeds.

Should I continue feeding? Or just give plain water until harvest?
If more than 2 weeks til buds are truly ready give her some diluted feed. Very diluted and then water only. Be patient, grasshopper. I am betting you will be duly rewarded.

So I'm guessing the harvest time might go 12 weeks or more?

i harvest my plants on flower day 65, remember that it can take a week to trigger flowering when you switch to 12/12 (so its actually day 72 from trigger), so that week counts as veg so you keep feeding veg nutes during that 1st week,.
at the end of flowering i make sure some of the trichomes are amber this is a sure sign that the plant is ready.
