Basement Grow - Insulation? Yay or Nay?

I am about to build out a section of a basement for a grow room..

My question is about existing concrete wall insulation. The entire basement is covered with a white insulation. All the walls.. I am going to section of a part and build a false wall so I can have a controlled environment.. the section will be split into 2 sections for flower and veg.. goin DWC.

Should I leave the existing insulation on the walls? it is white which would save me some time on painting or mylaring the walls..

My only concern is that being hydro.. it may get pretty humid.. I am afraid of soaking the insulation and maybe causing mold to grow behind it.. which also attracts bugs etc..

has anyone had a problem with existing insulation.. and thoughts?

I am really thinking about removing the insulation though.. just not sure which way to go..

Going with a medical Blackjack grow this time round.. got 2 femmed seeds sprouted to create mothers under a 400mh.. so time is ticken and I need to get this room built fast!

gonnah dwc for flower and maybe a drip system or flood & drain for the vegging..

Thanks for any input peeps...

My lurking had to stop... I'm on my way!

if your room gets too humid for the walls it is probably going to be too humid for the plants. think about adding a dehumidifier to your plan.

With proper ventilation, you wont have to worry about humidity levels getting too high. If you give the walls another coat of white primer paint, it should protect the walls enough to set your mind at ease. Dont forget to get some extra pain in the corners and any seams.

yeah.. I plan on getting a dehumidifier.. shooting for maybe 40 - 50 %..
my main concern is the existing insulation. I'm just not sure if its worth removing or not.. seems like a pain in the arse to remove.. just seeing if anyone had any bad insulation experiences...

in my basement office i have reflectix on all 4 walls no problems but i run a dehumidifier and hold humidity at 50% temp stays steady at 76-78 with 2000 watts of hps running
