Have a 5 x 10 grow tent in my basement. Planning to run 2 x 600w for veg and 2 x 1000w for flower. Have a 6'' inline fan and filter, trying to figure out ventilation. I am in the north. Will be 55 and below starting mid october. I was thinking ducting to a vent to an above bedroom, blowing hot air out up there, could be an efficient way to heat the room. But I dont know how loud that expelled air will be and if any danger comes from venting into a living space? I could also install a vent to vent to the outside, trying to figure that out or what way would be best, above bedroom would be really easy. I would then have intake be passive, pulling air from basement. I was thinking run the lights at night when its cold, and in the day run a heater when needed to keep at 65. Any thoughts or opinions? I would run the filter > duct > hood > duct > fan > duct. Putting the fan before the hood may push the hot air into the tent, putting it after you create the vacuum pulling it into the duct. Are you talking about cutting into your home heating ducting and venting into it, if so I would advise against it. When you do turn the home heating on it probably will blow into the tent, my forced hot air definitely would. How big is your basement, mines huge and unfinished so there's no issues if I vented right outside the tent, left a vent hole open on the opposite side of the tent for intake.
My basement is huge and unfinished as well. No issue venting right out the tent into the basement? I thought for air circulation you need to exhaust air out to bring in "fresh" air that is co2 rich. venting back into the room would crash co2 levels and be too much oxygen right? I dont want to use co2. Have before was big pain and costly. Ive ran the fan like that pulling, I just read so many back and forth comments on how to do it and thought itd be easier have it right on the filter. Wouldnt be cutting into anything, just ducting to an already existing bedroom vent. But Im also considering installing dryer vent and vent to the outside just to avoid any possible mold problems.

For the last 6 years I had my exhaust hooked up and ran into the cold air return on my furnace of my house. It worked awesome! The cold air return pulls air so it never blows and dirt into my ducting.
I was set up like this: carbonfilter>short duct>aircooled 1000k>short duct>Fan> short duct>HVAC cold air return.
I didn't own the house or I would have had A/C vent with a thermostatic fan ran into the other side of my flower room so I got a full flow circle and even better temp control. As it was though my temps maxed at 83 when it was about 100 outside.

You can vent right into the basement but it could cause the basement temps to rise and then your intake temps won't be as cool causing the tent to heat up. So it all depends on how much heat load and how fast it heats up the basement.

Just a suggestion......I'd run 2 dimable 1000's and 1 cmh in center of the 2 1000's. Babies take up a little room. This way start with the cmh let em grow a bit then add dimmed MH in the 1000's in veg. Run all three lights with HPS bulbs in the 1000's in flower. I really like cmh in veg but still love hps for flower.

One thing we learned was to put 1” styrofoam on the floor of our grow areas as we are also growing in a basement in a cold climate. We noticed that our plants were growing very slow during the cold months, so we went with the styrofoam. End of problem.

you may need some kind of muffler in line. I found the fan noise to be quite loud. I put a makeshift muffler around the exhaust hole that helped immensly but would not be very attractive in a bedroom.
