Bathroom Exhaust Apartment ?

I live in the 1st floor of a 3 story apartment complex. I am planning on venting my exhaust through the bathroom fan. I know it is only 70 cfm but I will have a 200+ cfm fan as the actual exhaust in the adjacent room.

Does anyone know about typical building construction that can clue me in as to where this bathroom exhaust fan might go? I know it eventually goes through the roof but is there any chance of smells or unusual noises going into my upstairs neighbors' bathroom?

Seeings how apartments use the same floor plan. It is very likely that they are sharing a few things between them. It is very possible that all the exhaust fans are tied together into one main trunk to vent outside. One apartment I used to live in, every time the neighbor backing up to my kitchen would turn their stove exhaust fan on, I could smell it in my kitchen coming out of my vent.

The one person I talked to said that they do in fact connect to a main pipe but that the upstairs vents have something called an anti-blowback system preventing air from coming back through the main vent. He was talking about construction in general, not my building specifically.

you can get crbon filters that will fit the bathroom exhaust and cut the smell. They sell it at Menards in a 15" by 48" sheets for use in air purification systems. I use it in my bud dryer and you can't smell it when your standing right next to it. About $10.00. VV

If I use the carbon filter for the bathroom fan should I also use one inline with the ducting? Can you give me a link online to a similar product?

For real smell prevention, which I would go with in this case since it's an apartment grow, get yourself a Charcoal Can filter. They range in price, small ones like 60-100 cfm can be $30 USD, bigger ones like a 465cfm are around $150-200.

Just search for hydro stores on-line, or any near your area.

Here's some examples of some can filters you can get, just look for better prices.

wow this is a god send Im planing on running ducting straight through the wall and along the roof and then plan on covering the vent hole with a cardboard cut out and have a sheetmetal ducting taped to the cutout. creating a seal do you think this will be effective if my air is clean and filtered. IM stressing with heat issues and my tent is only a GL80. what im saying is that this is my problem aswell im sub'd
