I picked up these BB3 seeds from Redwood Seed Co. at NY Harvest Festival 2008, just sprouted em, thought I'd give a tail-end report. These phenos are so crazy I just had to share.
They are Bubbleberry (Bubblegum mother blueberry father) crossed with Big Jack (Big Skunk Mother Jack Herer Father). Big Skunk is an old school Big Bud x Skunk (#1?) cross. Out of a 5 pack, 5 sprouted. a weak one died early. Of the other 4 I had 3 fems 1 male, all different phenos. I have only flowered two of the phenos thus far. They are labeled as BB King and BB Jack. BB Queen (the 3rd fem pheno) is being mothered and will not clone under my clonex/organic starter plug method. Gonna have to try a bubblecloner.
They are under a 430w hps with fair ventilation. DWC w/ bot pbp bloom cal mag humboldt hydro honey humboldt myco madness. These are F1's and not well stablized (4 dif pheno), they only need a push of food due to hybrid vigor. Haven't been able to push ppm's above 500 and in 5th week of flowering (have burned a little). In addition, pbp generally needs to be run at about 1/4-1/3-1/2 strength in dwc, I've had to run at about 1/5 - 1/3 strength. They are heavy drinkers (1-2 gal day). On to some reports.
BB King - Some weird genetics here. No smell during veg. Starting in week 3 and now in week 5 of flowering, have a sweet cheese/citrus smell. Also, some of the buds are at 50% cloudy 25 clear 25 amber already, at 35 days! She's a big yielder as well. Even w/o the myco madness her roots had filled out a 5 gal bucket. I would estimate that she has 3~4 oz on her, flowered LST at week 3 in veg. 150% stretch. Most of her weight is on her midsection, her colas get far to skinny at the top. Darker leaves, big serrated edges. I'm not huge on her bud structure tho. Nice pale green sticky and crystally; huuge calyxes, but xmas tree shaped, long skinny and airy with some foxtailing. Kind of exciting that she can finish in possibly 6 weeks tho at 4oz a plant, w/ little veg time and no veg smell; light flower smell. Will have to cure and taste before I determine her value. Have a clone in veg.
BB Jack - The 'headiest' genetics seen here. Beautiful leaves, small rounded serrated edges, strong skunky/cat piss veg smell. Steady fair paced growth. Was having trouble establishing a good root structure in dwc. Flushed at week 2 in flower and myco madnessed at next feed tripled her root mass. Has great bud structure. Fat & dense w/ large calyxes. 100% stretch. Skunky/Citrusy smell. Burned a lil. Slight light leak showed male flowers at week 1. Male flowers ripped off and light leak fixed, have not seen another. She looks to have a yield of around 2 oz's as of right now at week 5 of flower. Is definitely not finished yet, estimate 7-9 week finish. Clone in veg.
BB Queen - Strong vegger. Seemingly impossible to clone. Will update.
