Ive got a 900 watt fixture that has 3 fans not working (driver died) and i havnt bothered to change it, have run it on 5 fans(instead of 8) for over 6 months with no burning of the chip. in fact its the same fixture i used to make the par map.

I dont recommend what you did, but i dont think it will actually harm anything. Theres enough aluminum and fans in there to keep it more then cool. but yes, pushing air ONTO the heatsink is better for the fixture and the chips.

well, i have turned the middle ones off for now as i am still in veg, as things get cooler at night, i will switch it back before flowering. only takes 20 minutes with an electric screwdriver.

Not too much of an update. I have 7 days preflip picture. I had to remove sweet skunk male. Second pic is day of flip and third is today day 10. The light covers the space well. I have a bit of yellowing on 3 plants. With 4 different strains it is sometimes hard to dial in. Everything was showing preflowers so they have all launched into flowers well.

Yes. I have my plants arranged like a bowl. So 30 inch away from light at center and 24 inches at edges. There was a par map on here showing 1000 in the corners and 1500 center at 24inch in a 4x4 tent
