beating the led horse to death

here are some pics of my most recent led experiment. I know, I know, I'm back to my trusty hortilux hps- nothing can beat it, but this grow was amusing. felt like I was 3 again playing with lite brites. I used 3 660 nm red 90w ufos, the one in the middle has the hid hut satellite system- 8 5w red-dosent give specs- bulbs from led grow-lights.com.3 45w glow panels.Lets just say just shy of a grand may not be worth it to some for about 2-3 oz per crop. But depending on your situation it may work for you.Bottom line is they do work, but expense, and well... expense is holding any real progress at bay.

btw, this grow was done with only 1 ufo oops- so thats 1 ufo 40 watts of red led 2 glow panels-45w, the other 2 ufos were added a couple of days later- the 3 clones in the one bucket are G13 durbans, the rockwool clones are dj shorts blueberry- all clones were put into 12, 12 as soon as they were rooted, used Botanicare bloom formula.

no problem, I would suggest sniping up a ufo on e-bay for like a hundred bucks, if you're interesred. I'm using 3 to supplement my hps, it's that or use em for paper weights.

Nice results from one UFO and a couple of 45 watt panels... Been a lil skeptical about those panels... thought about buying some for extra light to the sides but been reading that there garbage. Nice to see someone having results. I'm working with 4 LGM5 Pro full spectrum LEDs withpoor results slow growth. Just ordered two Procyons100. I have a feeling those will work well.

those ufo lights are poor for a full grow being only 90 watts, but im pretty sure that would be 90 strong watts good for side lighting, the drawback there is how much the ufo lights cost. i want to see some more of the homemade led systems, cause i think thats where its gunna be at with the leds for the next few years, the premade panels and lights are emtirely too expensive for what you get but if you could make one from scratch it would be alot cheaper and much more powerful

right you are joker, making your own led array would be the way to go-check out BOfin's diy led threads on planet skunk

Dub rules I hear ya these fuckers are outrageously expensive for the results you get, but I believe it all comes down to the individual growers unique growing conditions, we'll see what happens in a couple years, prices come down etc

i just bought a 4 th generation tri band ufo. i will be using it to veg three plants for 2 months in 7 gallons. Then they move to HID HPS. I hope that the ufo will be enough, i got a good auction deal. I will be keeping my journal updated.
