Nice to see jeff f back in the fray.

And it's good to see someone stand up to those damn lazy old and disabled people who live the high life with their 600$ a month (not to mention COLA) extortion money. And for the most part, all they had to do was work their whole lives! And now they take my money? Fuck no!

Are there people abusing the system? Of course there are. Is that the norm? No.

If you're healthy and working, i'm pretty sure you're doing better than your alcoholic neighbor (who may have some disablity you're not aware of), so just be happy and stop whining. And where on earth does anyone get 4k a month for disability?

When did we become a nation of whiney little bitches with man-tits who envy alcoholics on disability and teenage moms for 'how easy they have it'?

thanks abe. nice being back.

the problem with your theory is that people are having a hard time making ends meet. and the lefties want to take more and more from people who are making it and giving it to people who could care less about the rest of us.

nobody here talking about taking grandmas lunch money or your neighbor with MS. if you think that is all that social security goes for you are in lala land.

and most grandmas who get ss have worked and put into the system. its their money...not your fat lazy whore of a daughter who cant figure out how to put a condom on her lazy no working boyfriends dick. it isnt her money.

four grand a month? pretty easy.

dad has ADD= 700 a month
daughter 3 bastard kids= 1200 a month
mom has "social anxiety"= 700 a month
daughter goes to college = 1000 a month (way way low considering tuition costs and books)
free cab rides to school = 20 bucks per day
throw in about 300 bucks a month per person for medicaid/care
thousand bucks a year for heating oil (liheap, look it up)

how much are we at so far? cuz if it aint four grand their is plenty more "necessities" that this "poor" family is "entitled" to.

check pie chart on page 4 of this document. 21.5 billion just for one state welfare program? not chump change

and to NO DRAMA, if you earned the amount you say you earned: 38630, then social security was 2395, NOT 3,500.

I know this because the SS tax rate in 2010 is 6.2% for incomes under ~100k. Source: AccountingCoach.com.

Medicare is an additional 1.45%.

38630 * 0.0145 = 560.14

So in total you paid 560.13 + 2395 = 2955, In social security + medicare.

Federal and State unemployment are two other taxes I should take into account...... but i don't need to.

we're talking SS and medicare and what not.... if you gave me your state i could do your taxes right now and for an income of 38k you don't pay 20% income tax, like you're implying

and if you did, you need to get somebody else to do your taxes, cuz you're being screwed.....
Thanks for helping to make my point even more succinct, Social Security was the biggest chunk out of my paycheck. OH and BTW redivider, there is more to my income than I stated, I didn't give you every detail of my situation. You don't know anything about taxing a LLC that was setup inside of a Open Opportunity Roth IRA do you?

plus he didnt include the part that your employer must pay. that doesnt directly come out of your paycheck but indirectly you are paying for it through lower wages.....just ask your boss

Absolutely! While I try to look at every angle, the Gubbermint has so many of them its near impossible to take account of them all. I wonder how much money is spent on entitlements each year? According to USGAO the government received a total of 2.1 trillion in taxes. Already we spend nearly half of that alone on SS. According to the GAO we will need to double the amount of SS taxes we take from a workers pay check to keep the fund solvent. So what was once the largest part of my paycheck will now be doubly so. Sounds like someone really fucked up our SS program by removing all the money, spending it and leaving behind worthless IOU's. Bush's plan could not have worked, there was no money, but if there was the money I could have at least GROWN the money so I had more in aggregate than the sum of the individual deposits.

i'm a little late getting back to the party, but i was being completely sarcastic earlier when i endorsed bush's privatization of ss. just wanted to clear that up for you....carry on

Sorry, you didn't write it sarcastically enough.

as we speak...

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2010-08-30-1Asafetynet30_ST_N.htm

so how long do you think this is sustainable?

as for bush ss plan, i think it would work. he wasnt going to transfer money to the market. he was going to allot a portion of your tax dollars to you and let you make your own decisions where it goes.

as i recall people under 45 were eligible for the program and i think it was a single digit percentage of the tax you pay. in other words, if you pay 100 bucks a week, you would be given 4% to invest in a market of your choice (ira, stocks, bonds, cd's etc).

to me, that makes sense.
