Before Flowering

I was wondering if when a plants pre-flowers come out, is this a sign that the plant wants to be flowered?? I found out that my prettier plant is actually a male and the one that was genetically weird is a female because even though I havent started 12/12 yet, they are old enough to do this now on their own. Thats why I was wondering if I should flower them now as well?? or can I continue to grow.

Depends do you want to flower now? Or do you want to let the plant get bigger and veg more. You can do either. It's up to you.

Hi Typo,

How big should you grow a plant before you flower...

Well the 2 main factors are...
LIGHT and NUMBER of plants

If you have a 1000 watt HPS and you are growing 4 plants.. you can grow them to 14-20 inches tall before you flower....

if you have 16 plants under a 1000 watt hps thenn there is no reason to grow them more than 8-12 inches in the vegging stage..

Light cannot penetrate a thick canopy... the sun can not even penetrate a thick canopy.... growing big plants is usually a waste of time...

If you are using CFL's, and YOU can not provide an additional 42 watt CFL for every 2-4 inches your plant is tall. then it is time to flower...

and finally.. height is not as important/relevant as NUMBER of nodes...

and NOW you KNOWM
