im thinking about growing out side in my woods. buti have many deer. i live in northern nj. and i was going to plant in the summer. it gets to about 70+ every day does this sound like good conditions? and i would have to stop deer from eating my plants any tips

NJ is fine to grow in. You need to keep the deer away and I have heard stringing up fisihing line at 1 1/2 feet and 3 feet around the grow will keep them out. Dunno for sure... they might crash through it. Also, the plants need at least 6 hours of DIRECT sunlight so make sure the area you pick is somewhat open.


** Unless you are germing and growing the sprouts inside and then moving them out you will need to start them in early spring to finish nicely.

Piss near your plants... let your dog piss near your plants.... this sent may deter deer from hanging around.

Human piss is good. Pee all over the place.

Then build a series of hidden tunnels which are pressure sensitive to a deers weight and they collapse. When the deer falls in the collapsed tunnel, its leg will have been broken. You can either shoot it in the head or beat it to death with its broken leg then eat it.

Dude, I grew up in nj, its fine for growing, but plan ahead for unforseen circumstances. If you want to harvest say 100 plants, grow 200. Plant them in different locations, say 10 to 20 per patch. Again you need atleast 6 hours of DIRECT sunlight. Piss, fishing line, and chicken wire are all good things to aid your grow. Expect some loss's though due to animals and rip off's.

I suggest placing chickenwire around your plants, that always works.

Germinate in a closet if you wish with no light needed.

Veg your plant out with at least 18 hours everyday with grow lights or just put the biitch in the sun right away and leave it up to mother nature.

Water every 3rd or 4th day. Do not overwater and that is the biggest mistake people make other than telling about their grows.

you can also "release" if not cultivate their prefered native plants near your grow. deer would much rather eat some soft green briar shoots and honeysuckle than weed...

GET clear gallon containers and feel them with water and leave them next to ur plants that should keep mammals away good luck

actually, both. Vegging requires 18 hours of sunlight, flowering needs 12 hours of darkness. My point to you was to make sure you pick a spot that gets atleast 6 hours of DIRECT sunlight. You still need the 18 hours, or 12, but DIRECT sunlight is hard to come by when you have to hide what you are growing,.

Im sure u can get a deer detterant, i think its a scent from what i remember (sure its a danger smell, like a predator).

or u can place a small fence around your crop. Clear rotten leaves from were u place ur pots.

videoman is talking about picking a spot outdoors and chinga is talking about starting crops indoors, hence "18 hours everyday with grow lights".

i just had a thought idk if this would work or not but i have a heating light for like a snake tank. would that work for a grow. i was thinking of getting a garbage can and putting a whole on the top just big enough for the light and running an extension cord so i would just have to unplug it for darkness. i might only try this with one or two plants.
