Being realistic

So I know many people out there start growing expecting to get 1lb+ off of a two foot plant in their dorm room, but I am not one of those people.

I realize that it is impossible to tell how much one will yield in a given circumstances. So I'm asking experienced growers what realistic expectations are. I would like to know this information purely to gauge how well I do with my first grow.

My setup:
6 fluros t12's (I know they suck)
9 seeds that seem to be growing strong.
24/7 light for now.

So lets assume the 50% m/f ratio works for my seeds and I end up with 4 females.

Please make an educated guess : ) I would prefer that if you've never gone through a grow that you do not answer. I'd like this thread to remain somewhat accurate.

ie. Please no comments like the following:

"My bro said he grew like 6 ounces off of one plant because he use like 4x strength miracle grow and wrapped the whole plant with tinfoil."

Your brother is a liar btw. And honestly there is no way to tell how much you will yield. It all depends on how much you baby em. But I would say about 15-30 grams wet off 1 plant if done properly. It takes year and years of trial and error to get pounds off a plant.

All you've told us is the lights and 4 females. That's like saying - if I buy these golf clubs, what will my score be? If you do things right you could hope for 2-4 oz per plant.

A few things:

-The size of the pot is critical (if using soil). The plant can only get as big as the roots let it.
-Veg time, you can let a plant veg for 18 months with fluorescents and produce much more than a plant that only vegged for a few weeks.
-The size of you grow space limits the size you can let the plant get.

Well then I guess that answers my question. There isn't really any way to guess. Oh well. I'll just have to wait and find out. Thanks for the reply

Some right some wrong..

the size of the pot does matter, veg time matters too.. but the thing that makes the most difference is lights, if you want oz's off of one plant your gonna need some hid 400w and up. just a few fluorescents(sp?) wont work. you'll also need the right environment(temps/humidity) and food(nutrients) ph has to be correct u cant over feed (like using 4x miracle grow)..u have to know the lighting schedules, u should browse up and do a little reading.good luck on ya grow tho

you wont get much from just flouro's. switch to a small watt hps. you'll get way more from it. i get about 2 oz. from 5 plants under 150 hps every 60 days.

The age of the lights also will effect the grow. Using t-12 or t-5ho that are fresh out of the box will produce more light. Remember to keep your lamps clean and get some white posterboard on the wAlls. U won't get much light penetration with the fluro and would prob not benefit too much by going with a long veg then try to flower a 6' plant with fluro. Keep your plants around 2' and go to 12/12. Or invest in a gps (400 min I would go) and flower at 3-4'. With the 400hps going I would put the fluro to cover the lower part of the plant.

Listen man i veg vegged this time with t12's and they worked great,plants vary on the strain and how long u veg what u feed it r u going to top it not enuf info bro give the soil the size of the grow ect!!!!!!!!
