Beneficial Nematode Video

Here's a video of a beneficial nematode I made. Many people use them, but don't actually ever get to see them. They are great for keeping fungus gnats down. Although they can be flushed from your pots if you get much run off. In a notill system they are a good addition because typically you don't have any run off.

So you don't post up threads on here? I can only post in the advertisers forum? I'm new to this site. Sorry if I'm not suppose to. All the other forums I'm on this is how it's done. thanks for the help.

We sell pipes though. We don't have anything to do with gardening. That's why I thought I posted in the right area. So I can't post my garden pictures in the standard forums? If not no problem, just want to clarify. Thank you for your help.

Thanks so much! No problems. Always takes time to settle into a new place. I'm sure things will smooth out after a while. :)

dude, sweet vid . i am amazed by the clarity . many of us use notill beds . i use many of all sizes ... was just planting my 4 yard bed today ...:) and smoking my 14mil oil rig .
question: do you find the nemetoads live on even with no real "larve/food"? do thy have other things they can feed on to persist long term ?
sidenote
. you should stock my homie @Dr.D81 's pipes :) lol

In my 20 gallon notills My nematodes seem to fade after about a month. I also use rove beetles and hypoaspis miles so a food source doesn't last long. :) I reapply nematodes every 6 weeks or so. Supposedly they can last up to 18 months in your soil, but I have yet to get that kind of longevity. Even outdoors on my land I couldn't get them to last that long.

Hi, I have gnats. It's my first no till and I've been reading so much my head is spinning. I must take it all in slowly. I think I over watered after putting my babies into the 15 gal pots. I was worried that my soil would dry out and the worms would not be happy. I have also been dealing with russet mites. I think my veg plants are free of them but that problem started a few grows back. I think their under control but I will be cleaning every thing before these go into flower. Anyway, I was wondering if I can grow my own nematodes or do I need to buy them? How do you make them? With compost teas? I just want the right ones. I think the gnats have made some of my plants a little yellow. I just put DE on the top to help kill the gnats. Will that hurt the nematodes? Someday I will get all this. It's a lot to take in especially while dealing with russet or broad mites. I did a heat treatment by getting my flower room up to 120 degrees for a little over an hour and totally stressed out and burned my plants, they were just starting to bud. Some have recovered somewhat. Never do that in flower, and or never for over an hour. I don't think the heat kills all of them. they hide where ever they can. These mites are a nightmare. I also can't afford to start over. I'm hoping that no till will be the answer to healthy plants.
