Bernie Sanders Spearheads a Call to Defeat Our System that Deliberately Creates Massive Poverty

The notion that one has to BE poor to care about them is ridiculous.

Why don't you hold the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Diane Feinstein to a similar standard, considering both are also career politicians and both are far more wealthy?

is it? there is a growing segment of the population that does indeed look down on the poor. that considers them to be less important than themselves. and it certainly seems that the motives of many of the people who are crying the plight of the poor is questionable.
the poverty level for a family of four is $25,100. Bernie's average net worth is $420,000. that's not including his wife's income.

who say's i don't? i don't know of one politician i have a very high opinion of. we're just not talking about them right now, we're talking about Bernie, and what i feel are his questionable motives for his stance

what do you want us to say about the poor? that it sucks to be poor? of course it does. this country has been fucked up for a long time, my compassion is present, it's just kind of tired.
i've said before that it would be easier to scrap the shit system we have and just start over. i've said before that people doing the same work deserve the same pay. i've said before that men and women doing the same work deserve the same pay.
i've also said before that big business, big pharma, and the banking industry need a lot more supervision and transparency. that the position of "lobbyist" needs to be outlawed, that campaign "reform" isn't enough, it needs to be trashed and completely reworked.
do i have to keep saying it every time someone posts a new thread about the poor?
Bernie is a hypocrite in my opinion, i think the poor can find a better speaker among themselves. someone who actually is aware of what its like to be poor, not someone who makes 400K+ a year

No, we're talking about poverty in America- or we would if y'all had the balls to.

i'm poor, Tty, i live in an apartment, i drive a 20 year old vehicle. i'm lucky if i can keep 5 grand in the bank, and it's taken me a couple of years to get that together. i don't care about money, the only reason i put any effort into acquiring it, is that society makes me.
i'd be just as happy to barter.
i don't look down on anyone, unless i know them, and they've given me reason to. i've risen and fallen too many times to take things for granted. a helping hand can hold a knife, and a disapproving look can conceal a breaking heart....
so i have the perspective of a poor person....and i don't trust any politicians motives, including Bernies.

Bernie Sanders is a eunuch that couldn't even defend his own stage from a couple of fat racist black women.

515 members of congress didn't sign your letter. If either of you actually care about this issue, why bring up 1 person out of 515 who didn't sign it. You could of, I don't know maybe talked about what was in it, but you saw it as an excellent opportunity to shit on a women who lost her legs for her country and still managed to accomplish mote than the two of you combined.

You should be fucking embarrassed.

I hear you and I am not far at all from the very situation you describe.

We can do some on our own but it is high time we held our elected officials accountable for taking food out of the months of the poor to lard the pantries of the rich.

To that end, we need to make some choices instead of just hating on all of them. Satisfying as that might feel, it leads nowhere.

Yep, along with a whole lot of other Democratic Party Congressional folk. Get used to it. The Democratic Party is telling Bernie's faction that they don't matter and they are snubbing you and Bernie. You losers would take the Democratic party down and Democratic party leadership aren't going to pander to you and Bernie.

The Democratic Party leadership have seen how poorly Progressives(tm) are doing in the primaries compared to the progressive Accomplishments wing of the party and telling you all to fuck off.. Just like people on this board have been saying to you and the other two Berniebots for about a year or more. At best you are no help to win the house and in many districts the Cult of Bernie are quite likely a harmful presence.

"Join my team or I'll give you Trump."

Fuck that.

You have nothing to lose is why you can take that stance. Only people who won't be affected by another two more years of Republican control of Congress can take the stance that another two more years of absolute Republican control is preferable to voting pragmatically.

I'm bringing attention to the plight of nearly 100 million Americans. Exactly WTF do you think you have the right to tell me to be ashamed of?

You STILL haven't addressed them, preferring instead to continue your hyper partisan whining.

I'm not embarrassed, but you are being shameful.

At last count, Democrats have lost 1200+ seats in state and national elections since Mr Obama took office, so they literally have nowhere to go but up.

Yet here you are, bleating on about how everyone has to fall in line with THEIR agenda, rather than holding the Democratic Party accountable for representing the needs of the American People.

You're damned right I'm not going to keep voting for them unless and until they do more than pay lip service to the issues I care about- while grabbing at the corporate cash with both hands.

You're quite right; we don't have anything to lose because we don't see the establishment Democratic Party as representing the needs of average Americans much if any better than the right wingers. At best, they'll put up better window dressing to distract from their grabbing at the corporate cash- and giving more handouts to them to get it.

Soooooo 'give us Progressives or go into the dustbin of history'.

Since you aren't a Progressive (lip service being the only evidence to the contrary), I don't expect you to understand.

This is my problem with leftist politics, it's always about identity. The poor, the disabled, black people, white people, brown people, LGBT, etc. It all leads to what the last page of this post has demonstrated.

"they need to find someone amongst themselves" "I can't help because I'm not one of them?"

When you make groups that you don't "fit" the other, even when you're doing it under the guise of "help", it's divisive.
