We decided to grow berry bomb and pineapple chunk for their flavor profile and THC content. We had these beauties in veg for 9 weeks under 600w MH and then in flower for 8 weeks under 600w HPS. They are now over 6 feet tall and man the smell will knock your ass on the floor. Beautiful ripened blueberry and strawberry bouquet.

We harvested the first couple of plants due to their height. We should have moved these to flower a few weeks sooner to control the height. Our grow room is a 4x8x8 separated into two compartments running two 600w ballasts. Reducing the veg time would have allowed us better utililizatin of light.

Our grow medium is miracle grow potting soil and we are giving these plants fertilizer every other day with a two day straight water cylce. During veg we use Miracle Grow 20-20-20 and during flower we are using Peters 5-34-16.

We are debating whether these beauts are ready for harvest. Attached are some photos for your viewing pleasure. We would love to hear your thoughts on this grow and harvest readiness.

Dang those little girls got close to the MH lighting. You where right about the hight issue on that one. ;)
Look good. I my self am not huge on using miracle grow soil for the whole time. While I do try to grow organic my self, I some times use the mircale grow soil to start my seedlings out. Has worked well for me. But hey each to their own. Where is the bud porn?

Hard to tell if they are ready without seeing the trichys. Just germed my PC and am using almost an identical soil and lighting. I add a little perlite to my MG soil, I don't know why but I feel like it keeps it from compacting. They look very nice indeed.

I added some nug shots so that you guys can get a look at t he trichs. These things are super sticky! I have a new grow already in flower next to these girls from Berry Bomb and Pinneapple Chunk clones, A white widow, and a critical plus.

Nice looking buds for sure but you need to get a scope and view the heads for the individual trichromes. Some people wait until there is between 5-10% amber trichromes for an optimal medicinal stone. There are three stages of trichrome maturity; Clear, Cloudy, Amber. Clear=immature and offer a head high; Cloudy=optimal middle road between head high and body stone; Amber=oxidized and will provide a heavy body stone. It all comes down to what you want or what your customers want but most people like to wait till some of the trichs oxidize so you know your as mature as possible without diminishing potency. When you have 5-10% amber then you should have 80% cloudy and 5-15% clear.

I bought a 60 x 100 lighted loupe but it is very difficult to see anything unless you set it on the table with everything still. Trying to hold it in my hand a actually see anything is complicated. I have a 5x magnifier glass that is ok but still not good enough to get a good look. We are still looking at when to harvest as my partner does not like to wait to see any amber and I try to push it as far as possible to make sure that everything is as perfect as I can get. Although we are looking for the same result we just do not agree when that is.

I am looking at ways to get better yeild through pruning and nute combination. Although the Miracle Grow has done ok for us I am thinking that there may be better alternatives after reading what many people use in this forum. I am also thinking the Perlite idea is good to help keep the soil from compacting as much or maybe just go to Coco and be done with it.

Thanks for all the input!

We have harvested all the PC and BB at 9 weeks from beginning 12/12. Despite the height issue we still ended up with some nice looking buds although the Beryy Bomb produced the largest buds. Inerestingly enough we were only able to pick out maybe about 3 trichs out of the bunch that had turned amber and we were watching closely for that as we did not want a bunch of amber trichs.

I have not weighed anything as of yet but the pictures show all but 1/ and 1/2 plants out of 4 as we harvested them in two phases. One of the PCs that I had did not fair so well because (I think) of the height issue and not getting enough light.

Feedback welcome!

Looks good Drisin, real good. Looks like its a good harvest especially if there is another 1.5 plants. Can't wait to get hear the dried weight, I'm going to guess more than a elbow for what I see there. What do you think?

Hit us up with a dry weight and smoke report. I've got 5 going into flower and was wondering how much you got per plant.

Got to try Pineapple Chunk at The Farm in Amsterdam this past summer. Very nice smoke, one of my favorites that I tried! Smoothe and easy to handle in social situations, but still strong enough to get your attention. High-ly recommend! :bigjoint:

Got here the feminized Berry, THC, SLH, and LSD from seed (1 of each) and they are now entering day 2 of their 3rd week of veg and so far I'm impressed. I've got them on a solid homemade aeroponic system doing 15 minutes on and 30 minutes off with a 400W HPS light doing 18hrs on and 6hrs off at about 18" away from the top (horizontal) attached to a hammered light-reflector. Though no fans nor Co2, these meds are not enclosed in a closet nor confided in a tight space. Based on the hand test, the temp feels like tropical hotness but not too much as to burn.

I've been using advanced nutrients' Micro, Grow, Bloom, B52, and Overdrive, and also adding canna rhizotonic and cannazym to the mix.
Here's my nutrients input for a 3-week vegetative cycle:
during the first two weeks I use Rhizotonic as directed and 2mL of Overdrive per L in my reservoir;
then for each week of the 3 weeks of veg, I use:
B-52 at 2mL per L;
Micro at 5mL per L;
Grow at 4mL per L;
Bloom at 4.5mL per L.

As far as the flowering cycle, I am planning on using:
Cannazhym as directed for each week;
Micro at 4mL per L foe each wk;
Grow at 4mL/L the 1st wk then 4.5mL the 2nd wk, and 5mL for each wk after that;
Bloom at 4mL/L duringn the first half of the flowering cycle, then increasing to 5mL/L for each wk after that;
Rhizotonic as directed for the first 2 wks only;
Overdrive at 2mL/L the 1st wk and the last 2 wks only;
and B52 at 2mL/L from the 3rd wk until the beggining of flushing;
I am planning on doing a flushing with nothing but tap water for one week right before harvest.

I've topped them using uncle Ben's technique (Uncle Ben's Topping Technique to Get 2 or 4 Main Colas) and got the four main colas/kolas. I've also been taking two clones out of each one of them on day 1 of week 2. They've been growing so fast that I've topped them again to let 4 more main kolas for each of the 4 initial main kolas on day 1 of week 3.

They are growing so fast! I've never seen anything like it. Actually, it's my first time growing and I'm not smoking anything until they are ready to smoke! It's a peaceful hobby and taking care of plants heals me in a way. Needless to say, I'm excited about this growth!
The characteristics about these strains were particularly attractive to me when I had to choose a strain. For me it was the yield to thc % ratio and with a fruity or candy taste apparently.

I am new to this site, and would welcome anyone with some help, tips or advice to get me on the right track with the advanced care of plants or other things such as friendship, journal entries, good references, etc. Feel free to holla at me. Peace!

Education never stops here neither. THC Bomb, Berry Bomb, LSD and SLH are doing great. That Berry has got the thickest stems of them all! And they are all so compact! They look like a bunch of 100 year old bonzai trees! They are finishing their week 4 of veg this week; I'm going to start their flowering cycle right after that. Your pictures are great! I'm getting some pineapple chunk seeds soon. Thanks again. Love, peace and harmony!
