What exactly do you mean by "anti-cancer"? Are you asking what strains are good for someone on Chemo with nausea?

Or are you asking which strains ward off cancer...... in which case whatttttf???????

Florida Girl, I don't know if it is strain dependant, in fact I would guess that has not yet been studied; but MJ does possess some anti-tumor properties. There have been a couple of studies that site this. It is especially the case for certain types of brain tumors. Studies have also shown neuroprotective properties for those with neurodegenerative disease such as MS and even the deadly ALS.

Sorry I don't have any information on the strains that may possess more of these qualities. That work just hasn't been done yet to my knowledge. I don't know of any studies that refer to strain name. I'd love to see an article in Neurology that reads, "Patients were given either .75 grams per day of Hindu Kush or a placebo..." I think we are 20 years from this type of work anywhere. Probably 50 years in the US.

Well said. The work has not been done due to legal restrictions. As more states in the US legalize for medical reasons I expect there will start to be more studies, but people will have to push hard to get that ball rolling.

I would suggest eating rather than smoking or at least in addition to smoking. You want the oils and all... Since there is no research you'll have to experiment on your own, maybe with a 50/50 mix plant or eat and smoke a few different strains "just in case". :)

Any strain you buy from a commercial seed bank you can expect will have a good amount of potency. When choosing a strain, the more important things to look at are the grow characteristics of the strain. For example, if you want something that matures very fast, choose an autoflowering strain. If youre growing outdoors, choose a sativa. If youre growing indoors with limited vertical space, an indica might be more your style. There are also indica sativa hybrids. The actual strain (while they do all differ largely) doesnt matter so much as choosing a plant that suits your needs as a grower. If that makes sense. Any strain will get you high. Choose one that you'll be able to grow WELL.

I'd take a PROPERLY grown bagseed over a shittily (yes thats a word) grown White Widow any day.

Believe it or not, you are more than likely going to want to look up terpenes, or terpenoids, to find the information you want.

Very little is known about cannabinoids, and their effect on cancer cells, although some promising studies point to CBC to be the most effective (Cannabichromene). This unfortunately is also one of the rarest cannabinoids, rarely found in quantities greater than .1%. The other cannabinoids are very effective in treating the symptoms and problems caused from chemotherapy, but as far as what you are searching for, the term being (Anti-Neoplastic) properties...There is an abundance of information regarding terpenes and their effect on the neoplasticity of an organism.

Terpenes are the primary resins produced by the cannabis plant. They serve many functions, such as attracting and repelling insects, warding off would-be consumers, etc. These terpenoids, however, also happen to have a variety of medical applications.

As far as I know, d-limonene is most associated with anti-neoplastic properties.

b-carryophyllene - strong anti-inflammitory properties
b-myrcene - enhances blood circulation, normalizes nerve function

The list of terpenes contained in cannabis plants is amazing, well over 20 of them. The amounts of them all vary by strain also. Once you learn the terpenes, you can start distinguishing them among your strains, and using likewise!! Hope this helps!

Mix your buds, from your strains. Like (Durbin poison -n- Critical+) you get a upbeat happy high that helps with minor pain.
mixing them is a good way to find new effects from multiple strains.
