best book youve ever read

There is truly nothing better than a good book. There's something about the mental roller coaster ride a well-written book can take you on.

What's the best book you've ever read? I'm trying to think of books I want to read but there are no advertisements for books anymore.

My favorite books are anything by Chuck [FONT=&quot]Palahniuk. You guys may not know the name, but he wrote the book Fight Club that was made into the badass movie.

What's your favorite book?

its an autobiography of major pappy boyington, americans number one ace next to eddie richenbacher (spelling)

he wrote the book not so much because he wanted to share about his war experiences (most of the book was about him in a jap POW camp) but he was a raging alcoholic and wrote the book to try and keep himself from drinking

its a great book that everyone needs to read

worst books i ever read though

anything written by charles dickens, atlas shrugged, the scarlet letter, black boy, and a bunch of other required reading i had to do

malcolm x's autobiography is fucking bad-ass though (well the first and last thirds)

i like good auto-biographys

damn cph, that was some funny crap, haven't laughed that hard in awhile.. my favorite book is by an author named hubert selby jr.. the title is reqium for a dream.. the book was made into a movie with one of the wayan bro's and jared letho, but the book was 100x's better, which is usually the case.. the book is about two guys who have a plan to score a pound of some pure herion and than live fat off of the profits, but along the way they end up getting addicted.. the book takes the reader through the downward spiral that is addiction, but his use of language is simply riveting.. if anyone has ever been addicted to any drugs, wheter it be herion or coke or whatever, then i would highly recomend ths read..
good thread, i would like to see what other people list as thier fav's..

it's not very long, but it was the first book that I remember reading, and I enjoyed it a lot..

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Fucking awesome.
I like the wheel of time, but it's too long. It's a shame he died too.

My favorite book of all time was the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy - a trilogy in five parts. (So all of them)

Douglas Adems is the best, also ANYTHING by Richard Dawkins, Friedrich Nietzsche and Isaac Asimov. My favorite authors in Science, philosophy, Hilarity and Science fiction.

anything by tolkien

i second that! Anything by tolkien is worth the read. The Lord of the Rings series are my fav books of all time and i envy tolkien's writing style and creativity.. def. worth an investment of time and money.

p.s. read the books first if ur gonna watch the movies cause they suck in comparison.
