Never cared for White Widow, but I bought some Blue Dream seeds from HSO after a little research. Just finished it recently. Still too early to test but it smells amazing and was very easy to grow and seemed to love the nutes. Turned really dark blue at the end. I could have feed it a lot more but wasn't used to such a hungry plant. I imagine I'll be able to get a much better yield the second time around.

What does HSO stand for so it might be a little easier finding. Yeah I’m looking for some high yielding ones and came across these as high yielders.
What type of medium do you grow in?

Mr Nice sells Black Widow which was the original. They just changed the name so it would stand out among all the copycats. I have some starting out right now...

PS: Just want to clarify that this one (Black Widow) is the original...the one that won all the cannabis cups oh so long ago...

Yes, Humboldt Seed Organization I believe. I grew just in a basic peat/perlite mix (Pro-mix HP). I tried uploading a picture but I keep getting errors.

Hey Mismo...I'm really curious to know what your issues are with WW. Potent, easy to grow, smooth to smoke. Not overly flavorful and needs extra Mg but those are minor issues. It's one of my favorites.
JD
I've had limited experience with it (grown it out a handful of times). I simply don't care for the taste of WW or any of the other White strains I've grown (White Rhino, White Shark...). I like the sweet, sour and skunky flavors, and tend to stay away from earthy/woody/peppery/piney flavors.

Aaah...a taste issue. WW is weak in that department. Thanks for the response. Not so much of an issue for me...I'll smoke anything!

I got WW from dutch passion years ago. It was horrible. weak, no flavor or smell and 2 out of 10 popped. Never liked WW until I got some at t'kettlejay coffeeshop in Amsterdam. They had a good cut, but I've never liked it otherwise. I loved white rhino though. Rhino has the buzz and the flavor. White russian from Serious seeds is supposed to be another white strain thats really good. I talked to an old commercial hydro guy in amsterdam that had been growing for coffeeshops for almost 40 years. He said serious and devil's harvest were 2 of his favorite seed companies for flavor and effect.

I got some white widow fems from Seedsman a few years back. It turned out to be some of the best smoke I have grown over the years. If I didnt lose the the clone, I for sure would still be smoking it. There version was indica dominant. Very sweet taste on the inhale and an acidic, sour taste on the exhale. I dont know if they still use the same stock or if its changed in the past 6 or 8 years. It wasn't knock you on your ass stoney type weed but it was good and did the job and then some, every time.

Nice post dude...ya you can find lots of phony breeders out there. My first offshore seed purchase was from Amsterdam Marijuana Seeds and from that seedpack, I ended up with an exceptional pheno which was very sativa leaning. Grew like a sativa and had a very nice mellow up type high.

One interesting thjng for me... I have never found another strain that is as good as WW for sex. It enhances tactile sensations and the whole experience...sigh

Just to offer a comparison Matanuska Thunderfuck, which is a powerful stone...makes me practically numb and is totally awful for sex.

My current Mr Nice Black Widow babies are about 2 weeks old. 6 for 6 germ plus I still have 6 more for later. Bought direct from Mr Nice auctions. Good price too.

I have some old White Rhino seeds...but I doubt they will pop. About 15 years old.

Ganja butter lunch kicking in hard...gotta run,

Man if those 15 y/o seeds sprout you may have some gold. I still like some of the dutch companies. DP has been good aside from those WW beans. I got some Blueberry seeds from them years ago that were fire. From what I hear their BB has gone way down hill. You can't find real BB in Amsterdam any more. It was nice to be able to try strains in coffeeshops. From the people I talked to though there have been lots of strains lost in the dutch genetics world. Man as far as sexy time goes the Rolex OG Kush from Devil's harvest is one that works for me. Dank as fuck and great for back pain. I've been very happy with all the samples I've tried. Their golden haze is also supposed to be fire. Had a guy tell me it was his favorite haze ever.

The original is the black widow from Mr nice. It's good.

I like seedsman white widow. The Brazilian sativa really comes through on it.

Best widow I've grown came from Delta 9 labs. Its a 9-10 week sativa dom expression. Tall nice size buds, smelled like pinesol over burnt rubber. Potent head and body, tapers off and doesn't fog the mind. Very good for work/excersize in small doses, smoke too much and you'll be stoned and couchlocked.
