Best growing method/lights for 3x2x3~ space?

Im building a book/dvd shelf thing that will have a TV on top of it, but the top will come off to reveal the grow box. Anyways it's 3' wide, 2' deep, and can be 3 to 3 1/2' tall. I'm looking for maximum yield. Would SOG be the best? And would a HPS get to hot? Even if I installed ventilation?

Also I would like to make this airtight, I plan on using weather sealant on all the corners, but as for the top, I plant to have a rim with plastic foam that the top rests on, would the weight of the TV provide enough pressure for the wood of the top to seal up against the foam on the rim?

Also, what is the simplest way to vent? Passive air intakes near the bottom and maybe fans with a carbon scrubber near the top?

What about a cooltube air cooled on a 250w or 400hps, in with a grow space of 4x2x3 (lxwxh) I want maximum yield, could I air cool it enough? The apartment is pretty cold in the first place
