Best Hash Making Method for my Buds/Trim

Got some trim and possibly a nice amount of nugs I'd like to turn into some hash. I've made iso before and ended up with some very green/dark product that had a very weird smell/taste. Over the past week I've looked into many methods and I've decided on two possible methods. Bubble hash with a 8 bag set that I'll shortly buy off ebay, or absolute shatter by making bho with power 5x refined butane then winterizing with 191 proof Everclear since I don't have money nor the knowledge to use a vacuum purge.
Let me know your opinions! Maybe possible alternatives or advice!?
Thanks!:bigjoint:

8 bags is overkill. Trust me, it's a very tedious process and you won't want to sit there working on collecting the resin from each bag. The 3 bag sets work just fine.

In fact, here's my suggestion. Get a 3 bag bubble bag set and some dry ice and make dry ice hash. You only need the work bag actually. The dry ice freezes the trichomes and causes them to break off extremely easily. No water in this process. It's way faster, and the product tastes/smells like a dry sieve rather than a wet sieve (bubble hash).

I used to make bubble hash with my trim using the 3 bag knockoff brand bubble bags I have, but last time I made hash I decided to go with CO2. Shook the work bag over a flat surface and used a credit card to pile up the blonde resin.

The process even works with fresh/wet trim, in fact I've heard it's recommended to use fresh trim when possible when making dry ice hash.

Check out youtube for making dry ice hash.

I did see a nice 5 bag set for a good price. I'd like to atleast have the 90,73, and 45 micron bags.
How was the quality of your dry ice hash? If its pressed is it dabbable?
Also lots of things I've read point to a lower quality hash when making dry ice hash because of the violent nature in which the trichs are knocked off.

It's against my religion to press a fine resin. I just let it clump together by patting it down in it's container a bit. Well, I press bubble hash, but that's to get the water out. Shit... lol

My experience (from the one time I did it) was that most of the really good stuff (blonde) came out in the first 10-15 seconds. I collected that in a small container and labeled it "first sieving". That stuff was very good. Very blonde, but gummy and brown when you squeeze it together.

We did about 30 seconds for the second sieving, which was good, but not as good as the first. That went in a separate container.

Another 45 seconds or so of shaking (honestly didn't time it, but it was very little time), was collected and called third sieve. It was green and crap. You could tell the majority of the resin was extracted in the first minute or so.

What was your return like with your method?

The return on dry ice hash if using quality sugar leaf will be about 1/4 per oz but like haze said you get different quality per run so only like an eighth of that blonde goodness described the rest ya pretty green and taste like black licorice. I use a kanga can and is very simple. IMAG0814.jpgIMAG0815.jpg
