Best hps wattage/lumenes, for 1 plant

What is the best hps wattage bulb to use for 1 plant that will be 2 ft. when flowering stage begins?

Also, should i still use the 2700k cfl's while using the hps light?

250w will work, 400w is better, a remote ballast is preferable in either case. Use the CFLs to light your kitchen or workshop.

How much money/time do you have? The more wattage you run the more you can potentially yield, but the cost increases as well.

I've used a 1000W to grow a single plant before.(rest of the crop was male) We raped the plant with bad PH levels and too much nutrients, and failed to LST or top it..... About half way through flowering we bent the plant over at the base so the main stalk was horizontal under the light. In the end we had 8.8 Oz dry from her, but I feel like without all the bull shit it would have been much more. Not a single leaf left on that plant after only four weeks of 12/12.

damn, 8.8 on 1 plant and it was indoor!! Thats fkn great man!! I have 4 2700k cfl on 1 plant right now. it is 5 1/2 weeks old, and about 14 inches tall. I also topped her using uncle bens technique, and i now have 4 main stalks now... I am about 2 weeks from flowering and just need to know what to do to get biggest yield possible.... I appreciate the feed back bro, and will take in consideration everything you've mentiond!!! If you have any additional info after i gave you a lil more info about my girl, id be happy to hear it brother
