Best LED growlight

Whatever u do, make sure you can return them if you are unhappy with them. I bought 4 units a few years ago for over $2400 from a different company. They sucked back then and I was able to return them. Any legit company should let you if you are unhappy.

Make sure you have a long warranty and has been in business for a while. These types of lights are made to last for many years. What good is a 3 month warranty in 2 years or they are out of business.

Research the technology, wave lengths, manufacturer of the diodes, etc. The more u know, the better choice you'll make.....

Also, how many other companies can say the LEDs they use are being used in the worlds largest vertical farm? Do you think companies spend millions of dollars on hopes and dreams?

Funk Lightings goal is to make the most reliable product we can.

If you want to remain pessimistic about our product line, that is fine. We will have more documentation from gardeners in the not too distant future. Until then.. All I'm saying is, do you research. If someone posts something in here, and you want to waste your time with a non productive reply, why don't you at least waste a little more time and do some research.
Im all for results, as im sure anyone is.....I dont give a funk how many millions you have drained into it. How do i do research if there is no documentation from garedeners. Sorry...i misquoted you.... 'more documentation'...so some exists?

Please direct to where i am looking at these gardeners documents. (The photo of the tomato isnt doing it for me) Thanks. :)

$799 for 105W? That's like $7.60/Watt.....

Those LED panels better come with some lube if you ask me.
Yeah pretty high price....... it's because of the "16 led module" is actually the illumitex surexi module http://uk.mouser.com/new/illumitex/illumitexhorticulture/ and their not cheap.....what I don't understand is all those fans cooling the panel down???....screams bad design to me when Illumitex uses none on theirs:

I had the opportunity to play with the illumetex modules.
At the time I thought that they were pretty cool.
Fast forward to now, there are better options out there.......
considering I'm building HML's at $2.00 a watt, more or less. (With top quality parts!!)

Hmmm.... $800 for 105W or $1,111 for 300W.... tough call... LOL

Considering they use the exact same LED's, someone is making some serious fucking money off those other panels.

$7.60/Watt VS $3.66/Watt for literally the exact same diodes.... While I understand companies need to make money, 100% markup is completely unacceptable in my books.

One of the things i don't understand, is they spend all this money on expensive research, and they don't bother to think if their core market is willing to pay $800 for a 105w led light

Brother ,Beefbisquit...
Although, from a certain point of view ,judging by " $ / Watt " ,may have much sense ,if same " utilisations" of leds used ...
( I.e 3 Watt or 5Watt leds or single panels...And much more ... )
But,if different kinds of implementations adopted ,then it has to be more ...' analysed " to different " scales "...
I.e..

Ask brother Eraserhead,for example...

Making a single panel of 400Watts ,with 5 Watters and active cooling ( "modules" with fan ) is cheaper
to make (production costs ) than 400Watts of 10 panels x 40 Watts ,with 1 Watt leds (and passive cooling ..)
Now...
Would they have a difference in final outcome ? ( => yields ) ....
Yes...Quite a difference....
Does it worth the price difference ?
It depends...
For small scale grow spaces ? ( 1-5 plants )..... Yes ...
For larger spaces ? ......Well,not much .....
Any other differences ?
Yes...Placing/hanging trouble ...
Oh...and $ / Watt of course ...
Maybe double ,than other applications....
..
Just makin' a note there,about " $ /Watt "...
Nothin' else...

Hey Eraserhead, Any news on the new series of AREA 51 LED's coming out? What's new about them? Price difference? When will they be available?

I want to purchase one of your units and I'm thinking of just waiting a few more weeks.

Interesting...I noticed yours have fans (how many?) while other illumitex bars for example don't...what are the physical dimensions of your panels? I may have missed this on your site but didn't see it.

brother puff is dead on with catching this shitty overpriced/badly designed panels, when you can get the originals for way cheaper.............sorry puff didn't see your earlier comments and said the same thing you did with my links.............great minds:)............

You REALLLYYYY need to look out for greedy peeps. When buying anything. For example, I found this Damascus steel hunting knife with a beautiful maple wood handle. Sweetest looking knife I'd ever seen. It was going for $1100 in the magazine that came to my house. I found the actual makers of the knife (I reallyy wish I could remember them because they are soooo badass) on some Russian website that I had to translate bit by bit. Well, after figuring out their exchange rate AND calculating shipping to America, I could get the exact same knife for ~$180. Americans businesses are insanely greedy. Obviously, the knife maker is making a profit, too. I bet that knife is worth about 80 bucks and people are buying it for over ten times that amount.

This is just one example. I could give you dozens more. I can tell you that 90% of retailers charge you at least 3-4 times what the item actually worth. If you find somethin' expensive, the closer you get to the original parts manufacturer, the more $$ you will save. Every middle man along the way is going to try to double his money.

It's true, I agree with you that middle businessmen always want to make money. It's very reasonable, for their businesses are their investements, they paid for the original items, renting places and setting-up stores, engaging employees, offering sales service and so on.
But how much money they should earn it all depends on how great their services are, including product quality, aftersales service, warranty, and personally, I think the manner should be added. No one wants to buy an item from a bad manner sales guy, no matter how great his product is. To the same product, I would rather to spending some more $ from another guy who offers a better service.
Buying an item from another company via internet= NO WARRANTY IMHO. Say an Iphone costs 800$ in an Amsterdam telecommunication store here, but if I ask a friend to help me buy it in the US, of course I can save a great of $. But who will take the quality warranty? Should I spend dozens of dollars to send it back to the US for fix if it gets quality problem in the future. Or should I spend dozens of money at a local store to fix it, probably I also have to pay for the spare parts.
If I buy a LED grow light from China, I will not expect any warranty.
