It's like the typical "if I can not have it then others should also not get it" mentality I've seen in the past years all over the world and especially in the U.S..

realstyles, i didnt give any advice, or bad advice, I gave numbers listed in the sale ad. He started this man. U can go back over alllll my posts ever made here, Im not a bigmouth, I pat everyone on the back, and pick their brain. I never indicated i was a pro at any of this shit. The ad doesnt say what bin, what brand, what company these strips came from. I dont know how to find data sheets and all that fancy shit. The ad says 40-45 lumens per diode, at 15 watts. I dont need corrected, I didnt make the numbers up, the ad did. I dont know what the max volts under great conditions are? But the sheets i did find say some bins are 60lm each diode.

at the end of the day, realstyles, Its for a 2x2, its a cheap build, the spectrum is optimal for plant growth, and its 300 watts. Im running a Mars300, anything is better, agree? Seems these diodes are the current tech here, I tryed to replicate on the cheapest end possible, and I get whacked with a rake for it, lol..

Here is my led strip light just using 1 panel now for the seedlings. 240 diodes 5630 led 6000k. Claims 23-25lm a chip. 72w/roll 16.4 ft. Used 24ft for the project
Voltage adjustment under half way. Did veg some pretty good plants under both panels last time. My budget light for 65$

It may have been running a little unhappy.

I have absolutely nothing against your person, I just do not want false numbers to be published to these strips because the subject was, "what are the best LED for under $ 200" and these are definately not.

Edit: Okay, so nobody is going to recommend original vero 18 but that's mostly because it was replaced by another product. It doesn't change the fact that old vero 18 3500k at 700mA are ~40% efficiency and can stand up to gavita W for W. If you want real crap, go check the fluorescent section or buy a shit quality blurple panel like MARS.

Gavita is shit.

Most LED setups are running 50% efficiency, to go higher you will need to do what @Randomblame mentioned, multiple COBs under-driven.

This would raise start-up costs but in several years you could see a return on the electric.

We are only talking 10% increase.

For $200 you can get two light engines from TastyLED that would blow that out of the water.

Don't buy cheap Chinese shit when the good shit is the same price.

However, if that light drops under $100 it would be a safe bet for an entry-level fixture.

I've definitely grown better weed than most of these dispensaries.

I did find one on the other side of town that has good shit, but that's just one of many.

You stand a good point. All my diy lights i made dont use blurple for that reason you stated contraire to that statement i am using a Unit Farm UFO80 LED in a 2x2 and ill tell yeah.. That light isnt shyt... But it is the shyt. In my own opinion. I am one of their testers

That is 140W actual, one light engine from TastyLED would produce almost twice the usable light as that thing.

If you spend $200 with TastyLED you'll have a fixture of two COBs that would put the 418W panel to shame at 140W.

Spend your monies wisely.

But yeah the UFO80 is 400$ and outta the budget lol

There is really no reason to buy blurple panels unless they chop the price in half.

See see im just a typical consumer looking thru threads, videos, and light research to try and find a light for 200 dollars and ive been pointed toward blurple lighting... Cuz what do i really know.. Jack shit! Lol
But then you come along and propose the tasty led and its potential as a light and i must say. Thank you for guys like you. Helping and pointing people out to some of the best ingenuity grow lights on the market for people and their budget

Short answer, yes.

I'm buying more from TastyLED.

I emailed all of the companies I wanted to do business with on a Sunday, Kevin from Tasty was the first to respond on that Sunday. I didn't hear anything from the other guys for almost a week.

Kevin answered all of my questions and directed me to the right products for my needs.

Check out the Bridgelux data sheets found on the TastLED.com website, Tasty engines can be driven harder than any others I've found and still produce 160 lm/W @ 1400 mA for 95W each, passively cooled.

My build is overkill, if I ran all COBs at 1050 mA I'd kill my plants.

People told me not to, but I intend on using the meaty spectrums that Bridgelux has to offer in varying amounts to reduce stretch, increase weight and finish frosty.

It is all about spectrum and light density.

I'd buy Citizen before I bought Mars, and I'd definitely buy Bridgelux before I buy Citizen.
