*** These aren't feminized. Sorry, didn't catch that you wanted feminized until after I posted.

My feminized Flo from Dutch Passion was a beautiful smoke, one of my and my friends favorites. After growing feminized I'd buy regular from DJ Short instead. I found that Flo was darker (more to purple) than DP's Blueberry.

Grape what kind of effect do you want?

Check out Querkel and Deep Purple by Subcool (TGA). They're both Urkel crosses and on the sedative side.

"so it would be best to buy regular and just take clones?"

It depends on what you want.

Feminized seeds are great for trying a strain because you can buy 3 beans and have about a 90% chance of getting a plant that closely resembles the mother - over a 450 plant test of 15 strains Dutch Passion found that 70% of plants closely resembled the mother and the other 30% had much less or little resemblance. Much closer than sexing regular seeds and comparing the females of the same size lot. It's easier on the head, takes less time. Only breeders are happy about all the work they put into a plant that shows balls on a stick.

On the other hand you might give up some sexual stability, but from what I've been reading around the web this problem is becoming less frequent with the established breeders. Some breeders like Sensi and Sag have virtually no complaints of hermies.

Give some fem a try, but it would be safe to run a regular strain as well (in case the fem hermies so bad you have to chop) and have some Dutch Passion Reverse and Penetrator in your grow room as a safety blanket.

What?? Who is the private breeder for that black velvet? I bought 20 black velvet seed from a private breeder in canada and none of mine came out purple at all! Those are really nice! Mine were F2's though. I saw Black velvet on VISC and it didnt say if they were f1 or f2's. My seed came from a private breder that also got his black velvet from visc...I popped 4 seed out of 4 and got 4 female plants that all grew a male flower here or there so I was constantly picking male flowers off the plants twords the end...great looking bud but definantly not purple as advertised.....where did that what you have come from??

i really like the Grand daddy purple ive had for the last couple years. it's always turned purple in the last couple weeks instead of yellow. the flavor is of grape. the smell is of pungent grape juice. dark orange hairs and a gorgeous coating of pearls (trichomes). it's easy to grow, just requires temps above 62 at all time. bugs like them a lot though. yields up to 3.5 indoor and 5lbs outdoor. it branches out and gets really bushy.

If I am not mistaken, this picture is actually of a strain called Nebulus, which does contain some Black Velvet in it's lineage. She is an amazing plant which has several phenos that are similar except in color expressions, from a deep purple, almost black (darker than pic), to a light green with pink and purple highlights.
She smells like cotton candy, tastes like silk And is as close to pharma narcotic as possible!

I do believe the breeder of this wonderful strain is on hiatus due to personal issues; hoping things go well and we see more strains like this!
