Interesting...my only question is what do you consider land race genetics? Cuz I take that as mex brick weed. Or weed that grows naturally in a certain region. But being that I've never seen a weed plant grow naturally (without being planted) in my area . When I hear the term land race stain the only thing I can relate it to is mex brick weed
Take your pick. Afghanis, Pakistani kush, Hindu Kush, Malawi, real Durban Poison, the various Thai strains, Vietnam Black, Oaxacan, Acapulco Gold, Columbian Black, Columbian Gold, Panama Red .... that list could go on forever; and many of those old sativas would give today's average toker a panic attack .

Panic attack? Really?!? Ok. My next question. Do u think any of the strains you mentioned can match a spliff of gorilla glue or wedding cake?? Cuz maybe I just never had the right batch but whenever I've been introduced to any of the older strains I'm never impressed. Ak 47 , cheese, u name it. I'd have to smoke 7g to get to where .8 grams of wedding cake could get me lol. Only strain that was good of what u named imo is Durban poison . I've got a really good batch before . But had way more bad or mediocre batches. Colombian gold and Panama red is just a myth to someone my age. Only when I talk to older stoners .. like older than 60 do they have knowledge of it. And ofcourse when u watch documentaries like "cocaine cowboys" he talks about moving lbs of Panama red and Colombian gold before he got into coke.

They're still around. Just very few indoor growers have the time, space, skill, and patience to grow them. There are Paki kushes and Afghanis that will lay your ass right down if indicas are your thing, but there isn't a hybrid in existence that can compare to a pure sativa buzz. Durban is the least edgy and psychedelic of all the ones I mentioned. Vietnam Black will break a seasoned smoker out in sweat and make your ears ring.

As recent as 2000 or 2001, I was still getting bulk Panama Red by the truckload for scwhwag prices. I could sell a quarter pound for 800 and the same buyer would flip it, double their money ,and be back for another in a few hours. And it had legs too... like a 6-8 hour energetic buzz that you just don't find in any newest latest greatest club cuts that I have had.

Lol. Those were my early h.s yrs. My first time smoking was in 2001 or maybe 02. Those are the "ari" and "skunk" yrs I'm referring to. When I first started smoking i would buy an oz for 50/60 bucks . Bag it up in nickel bags and make back $150 easy! But after 9/11 I feel weed prices steadily continued to rise.. at a certain point the same weed that was selling for 50/60 an oz was now selling for $120 not sure but I'd estimate this was around 2003 or so. This is when purple haze was the trend in my area. Only prob with that was at this time high grade purp went for about $450 an oz. rough times indeed lol

Speaking of old school cats, another breeder whose beans have never disappointed is Dr. Greenthumb. Biggest, healthiest seeds you're likely to find for sale and hardly ever a plant from them that isn't worth running. He's kind of a dick and his seed can be a bit pricey, but he's got the fire.

Land race strains are just more like an heirloom tomato, growing in country outdoors for ever and never hybrid.Dont really see any value to them unless you want to start hybridizing them to create a new strain, cross them and they create more vigor.Dont take that as gospel but just an opinion..

I heard he doesn't really have the turn around, and not selling fast enough to rotate stock. In conclusion you end up with a pack of seeds that sat on a shelf for a couple years maybe longer.Would not even attempt that, stick to a breeder getting rid of his stock fast enough that there always fresh (hint sensi).

Really depends what you like... but the whole seed business was started by guys who really just wanted to figure out how to capture the pure sativa high in a plant that could be grown away from the equator. Indicas were only introduced with the intention of meeting that goal.

Sensi Seeds has been basically hemp for a good decade and a half at least, as have almost all the Dutch banks. Seeds don't even begin to drop germination rates for at least 5 years, so shelf life isn't really a concern. Hell, I have Kali Mist F2s made in 1996 growing tails right now.

You are very mistaken or misinformed about sensi, maybe you got that from just reading not experience? And old seeds are a problem, you end up with bad germination and mutants if they do sprout. They may pull through but will not be fast and vigorous as fresh seeds.

Nope. Dr. Greenthumb is an old Canadian white dude. Cypress Hill does have an old song by that name but the two are unrelated.

I dont understand how this happens. How do we still have seed companies putting out complete garbage?? In 2019 that's ridiculous! We gotta put them on blast cuz honestly they are making it harder for growers .. we gotta search through pages of b.s. to find that diamond in the ruff. Shouldn't still b that hard imo.
