Has FFOF been hotter in recent years? been a while since i used it but im pretty sure i used to put my clones (rooted well) directly into 100% FFOF and NEVER had an issue with burn. I would straight let them love the OF for a few weeks before even thinking about nutes. (veg obviously). Or I had genetics that could handle the nutes i guess??

I would then transplant the teens into their final boxes which were 1:1 SS4/FFOF (pretty sure), then i would give them 2 weeks under the HPS at like 16/8 to get used to their new home and then flip em to 12/12 and start hitting them with GH flora series, with some calmg, sugardaddy and moab.

Does this sound like it would be a workable program? It has been a while and i cant remember all the specifics, but with a method similar to this made 23%THC OG Kush 1.8lbs/1000w with ~70 day turn around.
You know what your doing. All this^^^ sounds good.

Probably a pair of stupid questions but.... what does the ss4 stand for? And how do you get a 70 day turn around on og kush with 2 weeks at 16/8? 56 +14?

FWIW Ive used ffof on pretty much every indoor plant ive ever done and never had a problem. Im no expert. Lol

I usually transplant them into pots of ffof and put them into half the space they are intended for under 24 hours of light. Once they get close to filling out the space I spread them out trim them up/ lolipop them and go 12/12.

I havent had much experience messing with the light cycle... Is the 16/8 to save electric or is it better for transition?

As far as nutes go I don't give them a thing until I start to flower. I use AN which is probably overpriced and overstated in its results but its what im comfortable with atm.
I use the AN plus carbo load every other watering or 2 feedings and then 1 straight water. I also sometimes use h&g amino at the start it does seem to fatten the main stem ALOT.

Does that sound right? I think in the future Id like to use ffof all the way up until I transplant and then go 1-1 with promix for better drain.

Thanks for any help I get.

SS4 = Sunshine mix number 4 (peatmoss basically, with some lime to buffer ph) and some happy mycorrhizae.

70-75 days is probably more accurate and i was sometimes chopping before they were perfectly ripe. I basically chopped them at 8 weeks whether they were ready or not, unless i had reason to let them go an extra week. When cultivating for $ time is profit and even if product wasn't 100% ready at 8 weeks it generally was about as heavy as it was going to get and looked as good as it was going to, thus it sold at the same price no matter if it had ripened totally. Also many people like early buds. I also had VERY good genetics (perfect phenotype of a 85% indica OG that grew like crazy) and was trained by professionals that have worked with this DNA and process for years. I wish i had kept my notes, its been years and i was SOOOOO HIGH the entire time all the nuances r a bit fuzzy.

To be honest i am not sure of the specific reason, but i know i was taught to transplant into the final box and then give em 2 weeks under 18/6 to get used to the lights and increased soil space and soil nutes. I also believe that during thiis time i only gave them water, just let them eat the FFOF. I dont think it is for electricity, as the CFL's and T5's are MUCH less electricity even at 24/0. I think it is because the transplant is stressful for the girls and they need a few weeks to get used to it before they start flowering as it is never a good idea to put a stressed plant into flower. Much the same as u want to give em 2 weeks after any major topping/training before flower as they will have to get over the stress.

The pros that taught me didnt use any AN products, i suspect it is because their process could achieve the same results with less expensive products. Just a guess tho. The only thing i do a little different than you is in veg (since i keep the girls in solo cups) they will need some nutes before they reach their flowering home. I use FF grow big. The strain i grew was able to be fed about 4 times straight in the heart of flowering, but this will burn the fuck out of some strains.

Anyone think 30% FFOF soil 20% coco and 50 % perlite cou
I have tried hydro, aero and soil.

My prefered method is coco/perlite mixture
Do you think for veg and flower for a outdoor grow would a plant grown in a pot with a coco/perlite mix grow as well as the same plant in the same size pot
with a rich soil and liquid nuets?

Also what feeds the plant in a coco/perlite mix?
Liquid neuts? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I actually put them in the biggest red cup you can buy for vegging and use ffof, I keep a small a/b sensi grow on hand for this stage and add once they look like they need it... so I guess I do that as well. And ya on growing for $ and all that I was just checkin to make sure I wasnt missing something. Ill probably move on from AN in the next couple grows but for now its kinda what I know.

Do you think its a good idea to give them straight water every few waters in 100 ffof? I feel like it would be overkill to give them nutes every water in soil but idk?

ya in 100% FFOF u will need a much less aggressive nute schedule. That stuff is VERY good soil and u can grow top shelf buds with nothing but OF and a good HPS. But u wont get the max yield or potency. I honestly know very little about growing in pure soilo, the program i was taught uses the FFOF and GF nutes, probably because with these and a couple supplements u are good to go, where as if i used coco or 100% ss#4 i would need to be adding many more things. OF just fills these holes in one product. MOAB is a dream product, and i figure it works just as well in soil. If you can get your hands on it i highly recommend for u to use it in the last few weeks of flowering, will make your buds continue to put on weight during your flush, and also hardens and makes your buds more dense/heavy. Be careful as the stuff is HOT and u can burn the shit out of your ladies at the worst possible time.

Interesting moab? Ive used the nuts from mad farmer in promix before... seems like you add it around the same time I add overdrive in the AN line. I wonder if they are overlapping products or if the combo of the 2 would be bad?

I may be wrong, but i think they are both PK's and using both would be redundant. I have been told using MOAB and Hammerhead together works very well, but all i remember using was MOAB, Sugar Daddy, and CalMg.

I compound my own nutrients and I can tell you with authority that MOAB and Hammerhead contain the exact same ingredients.

Mono-Potassium Phosphate.
and
Potassium Sulphate.

I don't doubt it one bit. It seems to me that EVERY bloom product is just a huge PK boost and all they do is vary slightly. One product used properly should be adequate and anything more is probably not worth the money. When it comes to AN and their 5 different PK boosters, i smell a rip off.

Ya I use bud blood, big bud and overdrive plus A/B from AN. Probably still getting robbed but my results arent bad so I dont fell like doing anything different atm.

ya for sure. Its hard to argue with results. I use MOAB early and late in flower and dont feel any more PK is required (use GH 3 part flora line). But it is probably easier and possibly more effective to use different ratio PK's at different stages, as AN system does. I just cant see paying for 3 products that are VERY similar.
