Best time to transplant

This is my first grow as many of you know, I'm really worried about stressing my one surviving baby until I set up a proper space to sprout more seedlings. It's all I have going. My question right now is since it's taking off so well, what's the best age to transplant? I haven't really seen it spelled out anywhere so I just thought I would ask. It's in a fair sized pot for a seedling at the moment so there is no huge rush. I'm just curious is all. Right now all I have to go on is the time frame most people suggest starting nutes, which was about when I was planning the transplant for now.

At the 3rd week give plant 1/4 nutes then see how it reacts and bump up slowly. Has for container size. Wait until it has lots of leafs and is around 6" high then put it in a 1 gallon pot if not already there. At 8-10" high 3 gallon pot. Those roots need lots of space for a proper grow.
