I have a Kosher Tangie seedling going now. I have some hopes for that.

I think Alphakronik's Pairing with Sin City should bring some more interesting crosses next year.

I'd have to say there aint nothing much better coming out that hasn't been out for a while. So the new flavor of the week shit is just stupid imo I love skunk hybrids really I grew a Shit Skunk#1 (indica dom) x Skunk #1 and one tasted just like this sour diesel freebee I got. Most the new lines are really just recombinations of the same gene pools except well worked lines like blueberry, deep chunk, their are a bunch more. But most of these breeders just make a 1 generation cross and that is not making something new just jumbling around what was already good too begin with just to make more money.

I've been hearing a little talk about the Sherbert strain coming from Berner's guys out of SF. More and more people I know are starting to run it. Haven't tried it yet but heard good things so far.

Yup pretty much. Tom Hill has been working on new lines for a while. It's possible he'll release some this year, but there's no guarantee as he won't release them until they are well worked.

Clones =/= strains.
most new release mj "strains" =/= strains either.

In many ways you could make the argument that a clone only is a more legitimate strain, simply due to consistency in the end product and the fact that every plant grown from that clone will have identical genetic makeup. When most "strains" have many varying phenos, how is it really a "strain" anyway?

Yeah, the whole thing has gotten ridiculous in my opinion, and lost a lot of credibility. I read recently Sea of Seeds said they represented 130 breeders offering 1950 different "strains".

Is that necessary, or even possible? Where's it gonna stop? It's not as long as were gonna keep forking over $10/seed.

I'm a big believer in growing strains developed for specific geographies..I live in the Pacific Northwest, so I have been growing strains from TGA genetics and Oregongreenseed.

This year I'm look at Micky Kush,Jilly Bean and Marionberry Kush from TGA and Cindy Blue, Amnesia Hash and Oregon Grown OG from Oregongreenseed.com

I'm also trying to get my hands on some Oregon Desiel.

CinX is pretty big in Oregon now and I've grown plenty of that.

@petert: You must dig the landrace line form World of Seeds? I've only got their NL x Big Bud (domestic/uninteresting) but their other offerings look sweeet.

I might have missed something here , but I grow strains strictly bred to be grown outdoors in the Oregon climate around the 45th parallel.
Basically 7-8 week finishers that are ( as much as anything can be ) resistant to mold and PM. I'm slightly east of the Cascades so I'm much drier than Portland but this September kicked everyone's ass in Oregon.
