Hi, i am starting to build a 10x10 grow room..that will house 25 plants in DWC buckets. = 2 sq feet of space for each plant.. I dont know how long i am going to veg. The lights will be in air cooled reflectors... osolating fans in the room... co2. ( no intakes/exasts)

What would be the best lights for this room? I am Deffantly useing HID... I was thinking 1000 watts but ...what would be best for this room?

Thanks in advance
Peace out

With a room like that i would veg the plants for a couple of monthes and put 1000W HPS in between the plants verticly without reflectors.

Without the reflectors, if you go that route, make sure you have some fans going on that sucker if hanging the light between those plants. make sure the fans blow directly onto the bulb itself. If not or too close and you'll burn em'. I can usually keep my 2 400w HPS about 12 inches above my canopy, seems to do pretty good with four plants in my Eco-Grower. Oh yea and remember always that a HPS works in any position and an MH works in only in one position, horizontally. Peace take care good luck and I hope this helps a bit.

I am in love with my cooltubed 600HPS...

I can keep it 10" from the tops with zero issues... in a 36x20x60 tent...

I would slap 3x cool tubed 600 HPS in a row... with a minimum of 200 CFM per 3 lights...

With 3 rows (9x 600 watts) you should have an explosion in your flower room...

That will give you about 5700 lumens per square foot...

My little tent is running about 19,000 lumens/sqft

my 2 cents..

cheers...:joint::peace:

you must listen to my advice. i am the grow room setup master. i draw many blueprints in my spare time. did i mention that i know all?

I'd go with EITHER (4) 600w HPS preferably Euro vented hoods, stationary .... OR (2) 1000w HPS on a Sun Circle (or equivalent) get the one that doesn't keep spinning around but does almost full circle then comes back again so that you can do the Euro vented hoods also. two would deffinitely be enough lumens for this space.

Using a general guideline of 50 watts per square foot, you'd want to use five 1000w lights for complete room coverage. However, I think you could use four 1000w lights and achieve excellent results. I would recommend HPS systems over MH because of the higher lumen production they provide. And you would definitely want to factor in sealed, air-cooled reflectors to reduce the heat these lights will generate.

I will get a pic of my plants to send I've only got the 2 400w HPS for now and a sunleaves 6 bulb t5 setup for vegging, oh and I use my 400w MHCB to veg w/ too. Now as we speak and as it has been from the beginning of my grow till it's end that my 400w HPS is only about oh let's say 6" from the tops of mine with absolutely no ill effects but fatass buds baby! The secret is to get a proper fan than will push some air but small, set it upon whatever and let the air run between the bulbs and the tops of your plants and you'll have some really fat ones!!!! IMO I only went from commando growing outdoors to growing in dirt indoors to hydro/aero indoors about 3 years ago after I got sick. I commando grew from the time I was 12 here on the farm till just a few years ago. Learned alot, lots more to learn, only 1/1000 way there as far as knowing about growing indoors but, I do this so i know it works. The light as you can see or maybe not from this vantage point is only about 5-6" from the tops. See how I have the fan blowing on and between the bulb and canopy? Peace, hope this helps and bless you all.:eyesmoke:
