@Hybridway Great insight. I was looking into the Amare's. My DIY plan was to replicate something similar to their lines.

Their Amare450 is the end game to me. Has the UVB. Thanks man for the bump in the right direction.
NP. Once you go Amare & as long as you're a cool cat (which you seem to be), you'll be part of the Amare family n we stick together to always help one another however we can.
Thing about Amare & DIY is you can't build something like that for less money.
So, if you want the best, you buy Amare.
Simple as that. Best part is, the price tag & costant sales makes them the best option for everybody, no matter their budget.

Watch BigSmos' work here under them n you'll see just what I mean. And he & I both sleep well at night knowing we're covered by the best Warrenty & owner in the led game.
These lights are no joke my friend.
I hope to see you w/ one soon!
Let us know if there's anything we can do to help w/ anything.
Everyone's mixing lights to complete a full & enhanced spectrum are just trying to replicate the Amare Spectrum but will never achieve the proper blend doing so.

That's Great to hear man. Ive went down the rabbit hole and its a bright new section around every corner. I found Amare looked into them. I would love to find that enviroment and support system.

So with the pro 3 is that a true 300 watts? I know the runs who follow the way it should go land around 1 gpw. Hopefully so.

@Big smo sorry for filling up your grow with my inquiries.

Pretty sure I am the first to use Amare panels. Never had a break down, always had a vg result. If there was any weakness, it was me the grower, not the lights. In just 2.5 years LED tech has developed exponentially, but Amare has been able to keep abreast of current tech. See his Pro 4, a fucking bargain at $850

Hell yeah man that will keep you rolling for awhile. You are crossing auto genetics? Are you using colloidal silver? I'd love to make my own seeds. Well on purpose that is.
I make reg, fem and auto-fem seeds.

I make and use colloidal silver. I was. I now use rodelezation. Not sure on the spelling. I noticed some of the mephisto do it. A lot of cannabis strains will. It is a survival mechanism. If left to over ripen they will throw nanners as a last ditch effort.

Set up a corner with some cheap lights and when you chop a plant leave a few buds on the bottom and let them live until they throw nanners. Use that pollen to cross a bunch of plants.

It is cheaper than buying seeds.

That is from the mephisto heisenburg.

That's what it's all about man. Helping others is the best part of the forum.

Not sure how much you know about efficiency or all that jazzy tech shit but I can tell you this from proven data. Kind led is 22.5% efficient. 22.5% of its energy is in the spectral range of solar radiation between 400-700 nanometers. That means that less than 1/4 of the energy you put into that box is going towards what you want it to. Platinum uses the same LEDs as kind which is epistar and they are one of the least efficient ways of creating usable light for photosynthesis.

I know we sound like salesman here but understand we have been through it and the few of us here now have tried and tested this tech against numerous other companies. I ran kind and it blew out 22 diodes in the first 2 weeks. My hps was sending sparks across my room and my pants were leaning towards an incandescent light bulb when I had 2 Mars hydros above them. Cob technology works and works very well. The 1.5gpw your talking about is most likely from other growers using the same equipment and definitely not from an epistsr fixture. Like hybrid said there are a lot of companies out there trying to recreate the Amare light and only for one reason, it works. The price of materials and peace of mind of the 5 year warranty makes it worth every penny. Newer lights use Cree 3590 cd bin cobs, meanwell drivers, top of the line Cree xp-g3 and xp-e2 LEDs copper core heatsinks, aluminum frames and stainless hardware. Sure an erector set DIY build will grow but it's missing the enhancement of the supplemental LEDs and uv. They can be added but then start costing you more and more till your at the point of buying one anyways. Trust me on this, I have 4 DIY lights running as we speak.

My opinion on this all is if money right now is an issue go to eBay and buy tbe least expensive light you can. Do a few runs and save for what will actually produce the 1.5 or more gpw your hoping for. The Amare not only has everything a grow light needs it has what other companies don't have while still being nearly the same price. That the enhanced spectrum, best warranty, customer service and support. This current grow is my third run under the Amare. My first run I pulled 4.5lbs from 3 lights and last run I pulled 3 1/4 pounds. If you follow along you'll see I'll be in that range again and this is from 75 day autoflowers too. It works

Man, I gotta say SmoBro, you speak the truth so well. We must sound like salesman hu! But the facts are the facts & we tell it how it is. We have nothing to gain but the satisfaction of helping others.
And of course several pounds more then most led growers, lol!
Either way, it is what it is n if you want what really works for you n you're plants, you take heed to what we're saying. cuz it's for real! My plants under Amare. image.jpg
Wishing I switched out the Hydroponics Hut for the other Pro-4 the other day. The buds on the Amare side are swelling quite a bit in comparison. So I'll be taking the wasted electricity (HH) down & figuring out a way to hang the Pro-4 in its place ASAP. image.jpg

Oh You guys are top notch and so is Victor. I shot him and email and with 5 hours responded to me. I am convinced now that this would be best option. Not that I didnt before, but that confirms it. He had a personal response, where others companies shot off 2-3 line responses with links and such. I was in process of convincing the gatekeeper aka the old lady to approve me dropping more then original budget lol.

I have a bad habit of becoming a little obsessive over my hobbies, so thanks again for giving some insight and feedback. I think between my little exp and previous runs i should be able to have some fun. I have never ran Advanced nutes before and wanted to see if they were worth it. My local shop has them fairly cheap compared to online prices, and also they guy threw me a nice size mammoth p test on the free, I got curious as i didnt see it in the shop, and were not legal/medical here. So when I asked he was pretty cool and said ya man give it a run and let me know if it helps out. He said only a few guys local wanted to try as they are old school and dont try the new shit on the block.

Thanks again, and hoping soon to be in the Amare Tribe! Sounds like some Tshirts need to be thrown together!

That's great man. If you can swing it you should go for the best. Even if it's a non cob light they sell. I don't have experience with those but watch a lot of journals that do and I'm shocked on the yields. Just so you know there is a grower here, actually a pioneer in DIY cob grow lighting and he just spent months of time and thousands making a one of s kind grow light. Inside was the same cobs and LEDs Amare uses. While some people question it others like us are benefiting and there are still plenty trying to recreate it. Like hybrid I use the monos for veg and once the plants get big enough I flip on the cobs and they really explode. Sort of a duel function light.

Happy you saw first hand one of the reasons why we like them so much. It's a lot more than just another good grow light.

Things are rocking here. The slow start had turned around and they are growing 1-3 inches per day. Leaves are up and praying to the gods. Finally started some heavy feeding of 900ppm. I'll slowly increase this till they tell me they don't anymore. I guess if they stop growing now I could use the lenses but I don't think they are stopping just yet. Under the pro4's 3 more of this strain just cracked the seeds and 4 more at day 10 or so are loving life too. Not sure when I started these 8-1 or 8-4 but they aren't to old yet. About 30-40 days till they get the ax. image.jpg

hi dud´s
i used paper towel method to germinat cannabis seeds but the tap root won't go long why is that plz help
A lot of people do it this way but I never like to handle the taproot. I stick my seeds right into a rapid rooter plug and stick that right into soil. 100% success and absolutely no transplanting or extra steps that can cause problems. You may save a day doing different ways but in 3 days time from dropping the seed you'll see a sprout and that's good enough for me

I have a new method. I saw it advertised in Hi-Times New Product section 1-2 months ago. Water Beads. I bought a pound through Amazon. They are the size of large grains of salt, only round. Add water, wait 30-40 minutes and they swell up to ~ 3/8" D. Once they've swollen, drop the seeds into them, and let them germ.

I prefer to do like smo and plant straight to final pots.

With autos its important. The tap root determines when to flower. Any mistake and damage will hurt yield on autos.

I'm not knocking anyone's method but cannabis growers are the only ones that do these extra steps. I plant hundreds of seeds to my veggie garden straight to dirt. Its a seed and designed to grow in dirt.

The tap root develops fine root hairs. The extra steps can damage those and allow bacteria that causes damping off.

I just don't see the need in it. It really doesn't save time. They average out after the first week or two.

Unless you are a hydro grower, like me.

Last grow I did try coco, but it seems have gnat eggs, cause this is the only time I've ever had to deal with them

Yes whitebb, people soak paper towel small pot transplant all this extra work. One thing I do notice is doing final method the light should be real close till they pop. They like the light and heat from it.
