Alright well I'm not just starting a new thread for new reason.. Did some shopping today (my kind of shopping :hump:) and a lot has changed, It's pretty much a whole new ball game. For those of you who have read or know of my Tahoe OG Kush grow journal (you probably havent) I stepped it up a little bit. I buy all my MJ plants as Clones from clinics here in So.Cal and this is only my 2nd grow which the 1st was a success. If I learned one thing from my 1st grow it is to be patient and VEG for as long as possible!

So If you have read my other thread you would know that I was kind of tripping on the growth rate of my Tahoe OG Kush so along with planting 2 new clones today I also transplanted the Tahoe OG (started the tahoe 2/14/10). It had a lot roots! and grew all through the pot already much more than I had expected because I was thinking it wasnt gonna be much.. I was wrong.. Check this out, so i bought the 2 clones today and mentioned my tahoe OG and the chick goes "oh yeah is it pretty small?" LOL and said that that was how the Tahoe OG is small but dense. Go Figure. I lost a lot of roots in the transplant process but hopefully she survives and pulls through!

SO...

I ditched the HYPONEX soil (cheap shit) and bought 30qts of FOX FARM ocean forest natural & organic soil (suppose to be really good, looks much better than the hyponex), a few new pots, Vitamin B-1 to help with the root growth and transplant shock, also bought two more lights (gro-lux T8's..Probably dont even work, shit looks purple..), and of course 2 new clones bringing my grow to a total of 3 plants.

They are:
-Tahoe OG Kush
-Purple Kush
-Blue Dream (DJ Short's Blueberry x Haze)

Not sure where the Tahoe OG is from but the two new clones are from Oaksterdam Nursery, they make great clones! Best I have seen anyways..

Please dont hesitate to leave any input, advice, or comments. They are all welcome and needed. Wish me luck! Later.

It's pretty cool how all 3 strains look and grow a completely different shape/size and have their own characteristics, it is very easy to tell them apart. The Tahoe OG Is short and dense, the Purple Kush has fat leaves, and the Blue Dream is tall and has skinny leaves.. I dunno I think it's cool lol, like different races/nationalitys

Check it out after transplanting everything yesterday (especially the Tahoe) They all look fine. Show no signs of stress at all. If you look closely at the Tahoe OG you will notice the broken stem at the top and the replacement growth. Meanwhile Everything inbetween has grown like crazy. Its hard to really see whats going on because theres growth just everywhere, I had to trim/remove a couple fan leaves to allow all the mid growth to grow, the fan leaves were blocking the growth and forcing it to grow a little funky. The Tahoe OG has been through so much lol, but its a short stocky little mofo. Grows a lot different than the Blue Dream and the Purple.

Just to give you guys an Idea of my lighting.. And Im still not 100% satisfied with the light setup. I added another 25W CFL. Im now growing with: 5 CFL's & 2 T8 Flourescents
-(1) 105w 6700k 5,000L
-(1) 65w 2700k 3,600L
-(2) 25w 2700k about 3,200L
-(1) 30w 3500k about 2,000L
-(2) 15W T8's w/ GRO-LUX bulbs about 750L ea.

A total of 280w 15,300 Lumens, and a broad light spectrum (+ Good Reflection, it's very bright in there)
Grow room is about 5.5ft tall x 3ft wide x 2.5ft

Im going to ventilate less and give the room a boost of co2 over the next few days.. Watch this grow GROW! I'm gonna go M.I.A. for a little while before I add more new pictures/updates.

Yeah the new soil along with the t8's will help the plants grow faster for sure, if theres any way you can get your hands on a low wattage HPS or high watts if possible, it would really help during flowering. I forget but do you have any line of nutrients you are gonna be using, the fox farm should keep em happy for a few weeks but after that you need to get some grow & flowering nutes, which arent that expensive. As for the tahoe og I know its smaller than the larry og, ograskal og or the fire cut, but it has some of the best smoke around, Im dying to get my hands on any of those cuts. I havent grown blue dream but from what Ive smoked its one of my favorite strains and Im growing purple kush right now, along with u2 kush, jack herer, jack the ripper. Its funny cause I just invested in a co2 regulator and tank that Im going to setup in a few weeks when my babies are done flowering for the next cycle, but co2 can make a huge difference especially when growing inside a house. My grow room is a small building outside with some light proof intake vents which provides some co2 but a little more supplemental is gonna kick it up a notch. So Im scribed up to watch this pan out, be patient, sounds like you have made some good choices, next thing I would do is start looking at all different kinds of HPS, find one that will work for you, you dont have to spend a grip of cash either. Keep in touch, take care, peace

Hell yea dog you gotta shit load of cfls up in there they should do pretty nice if you keep the light nice and close without burnin em, you gotta fan up in there circulating some air? I like your setup man, reminds me of my first cfl grow +rep

Oh yeah 1 blowing air out and one oscillating on them, have to all the time through out the day otherwise it gets hot. I actually have a few more CFL's I wanna add to the reflector but I ran out of sockets haha. Tomorrow i'll add another 4 cfl's under the reflector about another 100watts worth So i'll have about 530w worth of CFL's & flouros.. A shit load more light than I've ever had. The only problem is the heat, I have to keep the reflector a couple feet above the plants other wise its pushin about 90 degrees or so and I notice them stress out and wilt.

This picture here is from my first grow and you can see the difference now in my setup. Should be far more superior..

haha ya thats why i love my HID. only one wire in my grow cab for light. but i have to have more cooling than you. check my journal in my sig. but i do admire the cfl route. super stealthy.:bigjoint:

well one improvement on your lighting could be moving those flouros that you are using for the under-leaf light closer to the plants. they wont do much that far away. like from your first grow that cfl was closer and put out much more lumens and watts. those tiny flouros hardly put anything out when there is only one together. those are what 18" are they the original bulb or a plant flouro
