Well, you gotta keep cfls pretty close. So if you can keep those close w/o burning and use em like you use smaller bulbs, then they should be pretty good because that's a lot more light.

But moving them farther away doesn't seem to be the ticket. CFLs have limited light penetration. Which is why keeping them close pwns.

I'm not 100% sure dude. Post some pics, I'd like to see how they do. It'll be an experiment.

Mostly using the biggies for the lumes[i know duu] i added 4 23w 6500k's for the brite red's.I must admite i have a coach and the coach said lite is lite is lite more about lumes to the good in stead of off in space,i'm damn close to a 1750L's at the top of the head at least that is what the lite meter is showing[cheap ass lite meter could be off].And i'm playing it a little on the safe side and holding the lite back at 2-2.5 inches.Looking to the future i can see air flow around things could be a prob. Will have to add fans and maybe 1 more power vent. And i will be adding 4 more of the biggies in 2 weeks when i go to 12/12.Hoping to not have to many boys in my beanie's[8].

will post back

post some pics up bro. I am using a 200 and a few 65's and down, I have a total lumenage of around 30,000.I am really interested in your setup. How far away are the 85's and where are that in proximity to the plant.I have my 200 in the midle hanging, and the rest spread around my apparatus.I will be watching, good luck

its cool but wouldnt that be really expensive, wouldnt you rather wanna put it towards more advanced lighting systems if your willing to put out that much money? just sayin, not hatin.

totel spent right now is only $325-$350,cheaper then the big lites and a hell of a lot cheaper to run. Will have to spend around $300-$350 more for next round of bulbs, still cheaper then high presure's.And if they burn for half as long as they should[10,000hrs]the cost of each grow will drop to nada not to speak on the e-bill.the cost of the big set up with every thing you need to bild the right enviroment would be 3x's as much[to do it right].ever thing is going great so far.
