Hey everyone!

After growing for 2 years im giving up on promix and trying coco.

Setup:

12, 1150w de hps
11 ton ac
200pints deh

60ft x 4ft wide table that sits 1ft high on concrete.

Distance between bulbs is 5ft.

Im confused / unsure what setup will give me best yield + flower quality. Veg room/time not an issue.

Option 1 - 23 plants that will be vegged to 4ft, topped once in very early veg. 1 plant per light + 1 plant between light. 6 gal pots.

Option 2 - 48 plants, 4 per light, flipped at 36 inches. 3gal pots. Topped once.

Option 3 - 108 plants, 9 per light, flipped at 18inches. Not sure if need to top.

Mother earth 70/30 coco perlite mix. Auto drip irrigation. Multiple feeds per day.

Thank you!!

Yield depends on skill. I like option 3 veg 40 days top twice in 3 gal pots.

If plant count is not a concern go option 3. Can I ask why you're giving up on promix?
After about 8 cycles trying 3 and 6 gals, diff veg times, plant counts, ppfd, enviro, i cant seem to break 1.25pounds per light.

The most i get is 4 oz per 6gal, 5 plants per light. Vegged to about 36inches finished 48inches.

I went through at least 10 strains.

My last run was in 3 gals, 8 plants under a light and got just over 2oz per plant. I could fit 9th… but that would still give me under 1.25#.

Im thinking frequent irrigation and oxygen benefits should give me plants with a lot bigger buds?

Um. I'm just going to say. You're obviously not that much of a newbie. Course, I'm small scale.

But. I grow 'hempy' hydro and they grow grow grow.

I consider myself a newb until i hit 2# per light lol. I hear ppl doing 3 and 4# per light so my current 1.25 is like kindergarden.

Well sir, that makes me a total n00b compared to you. My yields pale in comparison, mainly because of space.

Your thinking going over to coco will double the yield it wont you want to up your game switch over toIMG_0106.JPG led bar lights. Iam pulling about 5#s running 1300 watts of led 18 plants in a 4x10 3 gal pots of promix vegged 30-40 days topped twice.

Best you will do with hps is about 1g/w (2.5lb per light abosulte max) pro mix allown will not get you there, will have to feed liquid K to get your buds to swell more befor they finish

Thanks thats my goal, just 2# per light which would be like .9/w. Youre saying I cant hit that number without pgrs?

You are going to by wowed by how fast and big plants grow in coco. I just made the switch myself and I am floored by results. I don't know what my end results will be yet, but pretty sure they will be great!!

All i know is the grows i was trained on were under hps bulbs in 3 cycles our worst yeild was .75/w and out best was 1.1/w. 7 gal pots of happy frog mix with perlite, salt feeds pushed to 1300ecm.(think it was cutting edge but after 13 years im not sure)
Of course gentics play a big role we were running strawberry cough

I use 75% coco, 25% perlite in 3 gal with auto feed 3 times a day. I am nowhere near your space and plant count.

I scrog 2 plants (veg 40-50 days) each plant is under 2ftx2.5ft nets with 580W LED.

Last 3 grows: average 10oz/per plant (best was 11oz). I have maxed yield output.

There is a guy on i c m ag

It's a setup u might like.

Thanks for this. A couple of questions if you don't mind:

- do yo know what your ppfd is at the canopy?
- do you use co2?
