Bill Maher shytes on Obamacare...again.

Why did they cancel your policy? There is more to it than President Obama sitting at his desk with an evil grin stamping cancellation notices on peoples policies.

I know that's what you so desperately want in Obama(Romney)Care. But it's just not the case.

Sorry that happened to you. But for some anecdotal evidence to the contrary, I switched my health plan this year, and I am paying $64 less per month for the same type of coverage.

Here is where I think your problem is. You think this is the Obama Administration's fault, but reality dictates the fault lies solely with the insurance provider who canceled their policy with you. Why? Because it didn't make fiscal sense to them to keep you on at that rate. This would have happened whether ACA was enacted or not, as this is government policy unrelated and more a matter of bottom line for the business. I bet if you investigated the matter yourself, you'd find that the insurance pool was not large enough for Moda Health to sustain you. Again, nothing to do with Obama.

And after reading the changes there nitro, I'm not sure why you are complaining. You are paying $575 a month for essentially a no deductible insurance plan with very low copay? What are you crying about?

The 20% increase. What makes you think theres a no deductible? I did go to the doctor for the first time in decades last year and had knee surgery. The bill was about 11k and my estimated out of pocket was 4700.00 so where did you get the no deductible from?

I skimmed over the word "pediatric" which does not pertain to you.

Before Obamacare, what would you have expected to pay for the $11k surgery?

I paid for healthcare for over two decades before Obamacare and never used it so I don't know?

So if you don't know, why do you have any input into the value, or as you claim, the lack thereof, for Obamacare.

Seems counterintuitive to debate on something you don't know much about. Unless of course you are here to learn.

Tell me what do you think about 5/10k deductibles for people that are broke and can barely pay there rent. Does that make sense to you? It made no sense to me even before it passed and I figured people like me would be picking up the slack and thats kinda whats going on with my 20% increase. So I am not all warm a fuzzy about obamacare thats for sure.

Well you have your party to thank for RomneyCare style ACA. Obama originally wanted single-payer, as close to Universal, health care system. That was completely mutated by the Republicants.

Also, not everyone is a winner. Some people need to lose for others to win. Are you a God fearing man? If so, you can take humility and solace in the fact that because you are paying more than you think you should, someone less fortunate than you is better off, and you had a hand in that. Don't you think God will look favorably towards you for this?

If you don't believe in God, you should take solace in the fact we are not in a completely unregulated private health care system. Why? Because you wouldn't have anything. You'd likely be dead or out on the streets.

You lost me on the last part. What do you mean by I would be dead, and wouldn't have anything and be out on the streets? Thats a little extreme for a country that has had unregulated Insurance for over 200 years. My parents are still alive and in there homes so I guess you will have to explain the apocalypse from unregulated insurance.

You think pre-Obamacare insurance was unregulated? We may need to first debate the meaning of unregulated before we go any further. I supposed what you are trying to say is that in a pre mandated time things were ok. And I could agree to that, to some extent, most people did not die. However, are you to suggest that pre-ACA, the health insurance industry, and by default, healthcare itself, was just fine, and needed no overhaul?

You lost me with the I would likely be dead and out on the streets. I have mentioned on this web site that I am not against everything about the ACA, I am against the 20% increases when it centers around people that they can squeeze. If everybody got squeezed 20% maybe it wouldn't be 20%. Buck says it only went up 4% and that was a bunch of BS.

I do like how I can walk into a insurance company like where I get my auto Ins and purchase Ins with out being turned down. There was a time I got turned down just because they didn't like to insure commercial fisherman and that sucked.

Progress. That's a good thing.

I did not mean you specifically would be dead OR out on the streets. Descriptively, I tried to convey how an unregulated private insurance system would squeeze you much harder than you are today. Cable providers are a colorful example of said contention.

i'm actually repeating the findings of multiple independent agencies who ll found that premiums only increased 3-4% these last few years, down from the 7-9% that we saw for decades before obamacare.

i am so sorry that your illiterate ass gets chapped by mundane facts, loser.

I often wondered why people don't use RV tv antennas instead of cable unless you want a bunch of special channels. When I am out fishing off the Oregon coast I get at least 15 channels all the time for free. Right now while I am in Hawaii I have no TV unless I hook my laptop up for netflix and I haven't really missed the cable or sat service much.

I can't stand Ins companies I dislike them more than I dislike Dems. I am paying Ins companies nearly 50K per year now and that includes my workers for P&I coverage with no health care, they have to get there own.

Buck.

I have other friends that got 20% increases also so you are drinking to much koolaid. You don't think for a minute that you are being punked with the free shit and the subsidies thrown in with the 20% to make it look like 4% ?

you are an idiot who refuses to accept facts.

healthcare premiums are growing slower now than they have int he last 20 years, and it is because of obamacare.

go outsmart a fish and be sexually insecure with your 400 pound wife, ya bigot.
