I remember alot of people a few years back raving about these nutes. Does anyone still use them? Do they follow ohso old chart? Do u use just these nutes or do u use other supplements aswell? Are u suppose to bubble them before adding them? My ph seems low with them? I added 15ml of GIG to 1 Gallon jug of water, they are going into 1 gallon containers is that to much..., Need help

Yay for first post...I have purchased the BMO line of nutes this year because I was tired of all the rediculous prices and vague descriptions of what nutrients are "organic". I was going to be brewing my own nute teas after researching, but decided that I would first try out BMO since I do not have the time to do my own mixes.

Based on what I have read it looks to be a solid product if used properly. As far as the low PH goes I have heard that BMO does not really have an efficient cal/mag supplement and that Dolomite lime is recommended to add to the soil to help with adding more cal/mag in a slow release organic formula and with a natural PH buffer.

I use RO water with FFOF soil with some extra perlite and Dolomite lime. After reading through some posts about BMO the extra cal/mag is needed and it ends up being win/win when you use Dolomite Lime because of the natural release of cal/mag and how it can buffer the soil to maintain a proper soil PH.

I would have to say so far so good. I am just starting this season, but my little 12 babies are looking amazing. I have learned that there are many many many different ways to nute/water/grow, but I grow outdoors (in a greenhouse now) and there are many variables you have to take in to account for your particular region regardless of the status quo.

I will see how it continues with BMO but so far I am liking the teas, price, and service I get from them. Plus, I don't have much time to dedicate to it so I let them take the work out of me making the teas.

Cheers

BMO is the shit I am also running the whole lineup this year, just follow the instructions on the bottles and your seriously golden. Also make sure the caps are loose in storage to keep all the organic goodies alive. But in all honesty this is a very honest hardworking company and one of the few that doesnt list ridiculous nutrient dosages in an attempt to get you to use more of their product quicker. Read the bottle and good things will follow

I just want to make sure I don't overfeed , I want to get the measurements down, so is it the amount of water given by quarts? So 5 gallon equals 5 quarts of water and nutes? Just seems like alot

As a rule of thumb, 1 quart water should be given per gallon soil. 5 gallons soil = 5 quarts water/nutrients. Less than this amount and you risk not properly saturating the entire soil mass and forming dry pockets, which creates problems.

I found BMO was excellent when applied to soil with some base nutrients already present. I added high-N bat guano (which they sell periodically and it is GREAT, I highly recommend) and dolomite lime, which really helped keep the leaves green through the last couple weeks. I think as a stand-alone nutrient, the Flower Power is a little weak, and the Cal-Mag deficiencies described above are spot-on...it needs lime or another liquid source of cal-mag.

Combining the Grow it Green and Flower Power in appropriate ratios is a good practice during flower as well.

I don't use their grow/bloom nutrients any longer...I've switched to a potent amended soil mix I make myself (using high-N guano, kelp meal, alfalfa meal, mycos, ~50% worm castings, rare earth, azomite...) supplemented with the General Organics line, and am quite pleased...but I still use the Super Plant Tonic with every feeding.

Because they brew each batch independently, the quality tends to vary from batch to batch. I've had a couple bottles of Flower Power and Super Plant Tonic go bad pretty fast...in fact, my last order they sent me 2 bottles of SPT (I ordered 1), and one of bottles developed a black precipitate in the solution within a couple days and began to smell rotten, so I tossed it.

I think BMO is a great way to start into the world of organics, but not for the organic gardening "expert" (except for the Super Plant Tonic, which I highly endorse).

1 gallon container gets 1quart of water every watering? That would be 32 ounces of water? And a 5 gallon container gets 5 quarts of water every time u water? 160. Ounces of water?? How many times do u water a week? And nute? Do u give ur plants Spt the same week u give it grow formula?

Yes.

I typically do water, feed, water, feed, water, feed. My 3.5 gallon pots usually require water ever 3 or 4 days, depending on the size of the plant. I give the SPT with my entire compliment of nutrients when feeding.

Yes. i did mix it in a gallon of water first. Yeah a 14 oz sound about right i watered twice last week 4 days apart with 6 oz each in the solo cups. but this week it seems like i might have to water after 3 days. i guess the seedlings are drinking a little more water.

When u mix ur solution like ohso green's chart says per 1 gallon of water, what do u do with all the extra water?? Doesn't it go to waste? Just don't get it? Cause u can't store it.

Jerry: Do u mix your Bmo nutes in 1 gallon of water then into quarts? Or do u just mix it in quarts? To me, if you cant store it for that long the mixed nutes, this would be a waste?? I just want to make sure I don't do this wrong. Maybe I'm just over thinking this. I just need to know the right amount of water and nute solution to give my plants that are in 1 gallon containers and the ones in 5 gallon.

@Ghopz i think your over thinking it a bit. i mixed my nutes on sunday and used half a gallon my pots are getting dry right now so i will water tonight (morning for my plants 12-8pm they sleep) and im gonna use the last half gallon of GIG+Molasses+AFF. i dont think a couple of days would be a problem, couple of weeks maybe. I have half of gallon of spt and molasses thats been sitting for for a week now and wont be used till about sunday when they dry out after this watering. will let you know how it goes.

I wrote BMO about the topic and this is what they say:

Once you have mixed any of our products into water, it is best to use them within one week (7 days). If they are in a reservoir, where the water is being moved by a pump or being oxygenated by a air pump / air stone, they will still perform at peak levels for up to 15 days. Mixing as needed is best, but as long as you are using them before 7 days (just sitting) or 15 days in an active reservoir, they will still provide your plants with maximum nutrient values. Thank You. signed - Greg

I'm still experiencing yellowing and crinkling on new growth of my plants, can't figure it out?? I have 4 plants that are in 1 gallon growbags, medium is as follows Promix Bx 2:1 Ocean forest foxfarm soil, dolemite lime, perlite. I also have two plants in 5 gallon growbags, with same soil medium. I gave my 1 gallon plants 15 ml of nutes that was mixed in 1 gallon of water, 1 quart was given to each of them. Gave 5 quarts to each of the 5 gallon plants. Now I know 4 quarts makes a gallon, so if I have to give 15 ml of GIG to each of my plants per a gallon, does that mean I have to make seperate mixes for my plants in the 5 gallon containers? Really struggling with this, sucks looking at yellowing plants. Is it possible plants yellowing cause it's becoming rootbound ?
