Bout to start new grow, need some advice

Hey guys,
I am just finishing up an indoor grow of Blackjack and Trainwreck using a 60/40 mix of Coco:perlite, the grow log is in my sig. I will be starting a new grow of Sensi Seeds Big Bud(it's a Northern Lights cross for increased potency) and plan to grow one monsterous plant to fill the entire closet.

I am wondering what would work best for this grow as far as growing medium/growing style. if i was to do hydro, i would use this setup; http://www.stealthhydroponics.com/product.php?xProd=93&xSec=61
Basically a deep water culture system. So i am considering that, another Coco grow, or organic soil. Any preferences or tips on what would work best for me?

I am also wondering what would work best to maximize my yield in the closet as far as using things like LST, Scrog, and topping.
If you want to see my setup, it is in my grow log in my sig
Any and all input would be greatly appreciated and helpful :weed:

dude DO NOT order that thing. go to homedepot and buy a 5 gallon bucket. if you don't have a hydro store order the lid at the most. go to a aquarium store and buy the 5 dollar air pump and 1 dollar airstone and the grommet and tube. it'll cost 20-25 dollars to make it. I've made 3

Edit:Besides your going to be super dissapointed and fell really empty inside when you realize that that 10 inch net pot is supposed to be used for giant plants like they have pictured. theres now way you can start your seedling or clone is something that size! i know from personal experience

well thank you. if i go with that i'll take your advice, but i was honestly leaning more towards soil, coco, or a 50/50 mix of the two unless somebody convinced me that i would be a lot better of with hydro. any other opinions on that or advanced techniques that would be the most relevant to maximizing my yield in my setup?:joint:

Personally I don't like hydro because of all the maintenance, tried it once for about a month with one plant and decided to put it in soil. you have to change the rez, make sure the temps aren't to hot or cold, some nutes sit at the top and make nasty buildup so you have to add things like peroxide to fix them, airstones are fucking LOUD!!!!(sounds like a mini gas powered generator or something) I grow in my indoor closet in my room the freaking thing drove me insane and i have a 4 inch centrifugal fan that's running 24/7. I like soil because it is very forgiving unlike hydro where something as small as a power outage could mess with your entire grow.

Ya that's what i was thinking. i'll probably do an organic soil/coco mix. I was thinking about the Sensi seeds Big Bud strain but im hearing that the bud is not very good at all. I know that going with a very high yielding strain will make me suffer on potency, but i'd rather keep that gap as small as possible.
I was going to go with Mr. Nice critical mass, but unfortunately they dont have a feminized seed and for my setup i have to use a feminized seed because i can only grow one plant.
Does anybody know of a very high yielding strain with a pretty decent potency?

that Light of Jah looks to have some pretty bad smoke reports, and i was hoping to get seeds from one of the major seedbanks(attitude, Greenhouse, Doc etc...) so that i dont get ripped. Thanks for the input though!
Anybody else have a preferred very High yielding strain?

that cheese looks pretty good! Thanks mate! Have you ever seen/heard of Killer Skunk?

oo i do like the sound of that :

"Yield Indoors: Depending on grow skills and environment, a big yield is hard to avoid. A gram per watt of light is not so hard with Killer Skunk."

you may be on to a winner there :)

Dude..SATIVA's ARE NOT A HIGH YIELDING STRAIN CHOICE. that guy must be way to medicated....... or just wants you to do a test run of his choice of seeds honestly. I would also not go with big bud either its a pretty shitty high IMO its considered a low grade at most clinics here in CA usually a OD strain........... I would go with something like this

http://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/barneys-farm-violator-kush-feminized/prod_38.html

This is the only seedbank i would order my seeds from FYI most trusted here on RIU and has the biggest selection, fuck nirvana's crappy ass genetics.

22% THC and 1.5% CBD!!!!!!!! you'll get a great yield and the last thing your going to be questioning is quality.

That violator Kush looks amazing, but i think im looking for a higher yielding strain than the violator kush, and one with a potential to top and completely fill up a 4x2x6 amount of space :) any other ideas? i love your guys' input

hmmmmmm i would go with any big bud cross honestly. big bud x northern lights is amazing. with the yield from big bud and northern light's being a great indoor plant with not to overwhelming of an aroma will definently be a plus.

Edit: I just wouldn't really go for big bud on its own.... like I've said the thc content is lower around 10-12%.(meaning its value is far less to a person who knows there shit)

do you think that the big bud x Northern lights, or the sensi Seeds Big Bud[(Big Bud x Northern lights)xBig Bud] would be better?

SENSI SEEDS by all means if your willing to pay for them bro! sensi seeds is definitely quality. The only reason i didnt recommend there's was because of the higher price, those guys without a doubt know what there doing, high yielding potent buds guaranteed.

awesome i'll go with that then, thanks brotha! think that strain would do better in a SCROG, topped, or a combination? and do u think i could fit like a white russian in there if i take off the branches, but still get max yield from the big bud?:weed:
