I was actually just looking at a 1200w king led and it says actual draw is 1200 120 10w leds. Even if the site and home boy is wrong no need to be that grumpy man. Smile and smoke brother :bigjoint:

Would it be a dumb a idea to but that king led for 200$? Someone else is about to buy it and asked me so I'm asking you fine feathered folks

I actually picked up a few of them cheap from people who didn't know how to grow. After modifying them to run on 1/3rd the standard wall power, the two went into a 2x3 space. Wall wattage was 96w each, PPFD 670 @8" and the surface temp of the heatsinks was only 2c above ambient. The grower kept the fixtures around 3" from canopy of 4 plants and netted 300g dry plus bonus material.

All I am saying is to keep your eyes open for good deals. Sure it might be chinese junk to many but in the right hands it can be useful. If you got those panels for 50, would it be a good deal then? I would say so.

This is true especially how revolving door the lighting industry is and how impatient people can be. Good deals are everywhere

I'm fairly patient and try to do my research first. Inevitably the moment I buy there will be a better deal but w.e lol... working with people who don't appreciate my patients tho and they just bought one of those for like 150.

Kept searching and reading on those lights and I did find one that said it was 200 actual watts... I must test for my self I guess :bigjoint:

I'll you this much I have 4 top bin cree cxb 3070s. And top bin cree xpe something or other . Im not going to name the panel but it's 300w actual draw.
And I have a Mars hydro epistar pro 160 . And the Mars absolutely is smashing my $800 cree cob panel.the Mars hydro buds are atleast 3 times as big around and hard as fuck. While the over priced cob panel the buds are about the size of hot dogs and airy fluffy garbage. . But hey that's just an opinion from a guy that owns both. The Mars panel was half the cost and it is blowing out. Not just one grow but every grow I've done with it.
So to the dude that said home depot leds are better your nuts. Have a good day

I'm not a fan of Mars hydro either . I'm just saying that it isn't garage . They will grow big ass hard colas . Atleast the pro series I have do.
I will be purchasing a Amare Technologies solar pro9 in a couple weeks and I'm hoping that it destroys everythjng.

You can also grow well with LED bulbs from box stores.

Success is dependent on many more factors than just light.

With or without lenses?
What kind of grow area.

This reeks like shill.

Especially because you claim the epistar is killing it, and not the cree one.

I'm too much of a newbie to really be able to say too much other than different lights do better in different situations. It should be less light bashing and more how to be great with what you got. The only peeps that can really talk crap in my opinion are the ones who know how to grow and have been able to afford using different lights in the same environment to get any real hard facts about light performance, quality and price.

I was thinking the same thing

Keep in mind 4 cxas and the xpe monos....still I'm having trouble seeing 75w / cob on the cxas that claim of 300w is dubious at best.....

Each King panel was pulling 500 Watts from the plug....for a total of 1000 watts...the DiY COB panel pulls 400 watts from the plug...math is hard. So is inserting your own arbitrary number of 250W....which I never stated.

Right out of the box, 1 unit pulled 550 watts and the other 520 watts, within a year King sent me 3 replacement drivers and a panel to swap out. Using meters they never put out lux or PAR measurements close to the COBS...units were the 200x6w diodes...

You didn't have to state, I went and checked the model for myself. The two 'stock' King 1200w double chip panels I got were pulling 252w and 257w from the wall before I under drove them which brought them both to 96w. There is no way the 3 arrays would handle that 500w of power with the simple cooling and would probably pop within a few hours. That is pretty standard with all generic chinese panels like King, Boss, Galaxy, Mars, etc.

Regardless, epic fail on your part whether it was the result of incompetence or an attempt to troll.

I dont know the the hell shill means dude.
But I'll take it as an insult . Like I said now that I own Mars I wouldn't buy them again. They are cheaply made lights. Period. But the pro 160is fucking smashing the Amare solar eclipse 250 that I'm running right next to it . The purple power until the Mars pro 160 is in a 3.5 g dwc bucket so I don't know if that matters but . Ever fucking grow so far it beats this Amare panel. Which is suppose to be a total of 300w with the fans and driver. . Honestly I really wished the Amare panel was killing because I saved for a long fucking time to buy the Amare panel .And I was so excited to get the Amare. But it sucks. Under the Amare is a lemon Thai Kush in a 7g grow bag. I topped ² times and then let it go. Now I will say that it vegged like a mofo . But in flower it just never impresses. .
So I don't know if your calling me a liar or what. I'm just stating the facts. Like I said I WILL never again buy another Mars panel. That's why I was going to get a solar pro 9 in hopes of it being better than the 250. But I think I'm going with a timber Vero 29 900w frame work.
What do y'all think.

Mars gets a lot of unnecessary heat from users on this site I have seen, when Sara is actually a really caring manager for Mars. I've seen that Mars Pro 320 and it literally blew away a 600HPS

Honestly, the Mars Pro series is probably the best LED right now per cost. Check out
https://forum.grasscity.com/threads/mars-hydro-led-grow-light-family.1360125/page-1281

My buddy has the 320 and he says it smashes his old 1000 watter HID. Amare is over rated and over priced. Mars is probably the best per price LED company. Kind of sad how many members bash Mars. Never had a problem with them and sara is always around to help if something goes wrong.
