Breeding Auto Flowers

I consider this a little advance because the strains are suppose to finish from seed to start around 7 weeks.

I have got a male that should be dropping pollen within a week or two. It looks like my 6 other ak47 x blueberry are going to be female (fingers crossed)

When should I pollinate the female(s) I select?

I know on regular plants it takes a few weeks (if not more) for seeds to mature...how does it work with Auto Flowers

yeah when i breed my autos as soon as i saw hairs i put the males in the room with them for about a week or two...that way the seeds have time to mature..also ur going to have to let the females flower pass ripeness so all the seeds mature...

Alright I can't wait to try it out. I am going to collect pollen and jar it...then breed a female by using a brush. I'm only going to use one to breed.

MeanGreen, how many seeds do you usually get when pollinate?

Seperate the male and hand pollinate. When you harvest, don't harvest the seeded buds unless the seeds are ready, if you aren't sure, it's better to leave them too long over not long enough.

i would pollinate a small bud on each plant.. you will see a little diffrence in the ak/bb autos and you want to get all your pheno's

there is an article in the skunk mag that suggests harvesting your pollen so you can polinate the females yourself with a brush or q-tip. first after you have a male put down some tinfoil under the pot and let it sit a few days in a dark place. after the few days come in and shake the plant. you should see pollen build up on the tinfoil that you can jar and use for pollination at your own will. about 5 weeks before harvest turn off all fans in the grow room no air movement at all then pick where you want to pollinat the females and rub the pollen on the buds with the small brush or q-tip. leave them sit over the dark period. in morning mist the entire grow room with water killing any pollen that did not take to the area that you choose to create seeds. then turn the fans back on. at the end of the 5 weeks its harvest time for both the seeds and the bud you might get the odd seed amongst bud close to your seed sites but no need for seperate rooms or wasting all that female goodness

If I were to do this would I be able to harvest the rest of the plant before I harvest the seeded areas?
Yes...Everytime i do a seed run i tend to pollenate the lower buds and keep the main cola for smoke, unless i need alot of seed to stabilize the strain i'm making...For example, now i have stabilized my newest auto strain, i am currently growing 5 fems that have been fully pollinated for seed stocks, should get 1k+ beans when its ready to chop..
If you pollenate only the lower popcorn bus then trim the main cola when its ready and leave the rest of the plant to finish seed formation while you're drying and curing your bud.

no its exactly the same as you would usually harvest a plant....top colas that are ready get chopped then leave the rest to mature, or in this case, finish producing seed.
