Breeding Diesel Ryders need some help

K so with my current situation I dont have much room to start multiple plants at the same time and I only got 3 Diesel ryder seeds left. I currently have a seedling going that started showing balls yesterday. I really want to breed this strain since I paid 80 bucks for 10 seeds and would like to keep the strain. I want to keep the male growing just long enough so I can collect its pollen and use it when or if I sprout a female out of my remaining seeds. I guess my question how long do I let it grow for the pollen to be ready? can I just break thoses lil balls open and find pollen? and in what do I store the pollen I know I should keep it in a cool dark place just not sure what to store it in is a sandwich baggy good enought?

ok dood what you do is wait for them to change in color and the bananna tips will be stickin out.i find those ones and wait a couple more hours then clip and dry slightly , i gathered them in a glass vial put a lid on and shook it up let all the yellow pollen dust settle . after that i pick out the banana remains then store it in the refrigerator.i gathered pollen using this method 3 times from the same male all 3 times in different stages of ball/banana growth and only 1 of the pollen samples were viable. the sample i took last was almost hours before they opened on there own. it kinda sucked cuz when i did it it was not a pollen experiment , i was just tryin to make seed and figured it all out by mistake. any how i am by no means a grow pro i am just passing on what i know from this experience. hope it helps

the one male I got going right now is tiny I posted a pic in my first post dunno if you can see it id say its maybe like 3inchs maybe a bit more but the balls are already forming will add more pics tomorow

its a bit different with autos...just save the pollen from the male you have..wait tell

the flowers (balls) open and pick & put them into a pill bottle with the top open so

that it drys then u can put the top on or you mite get mold.. pick/save as much as u

can..in the meantime start your other seeds (all of them) and hope you get a

female, as soon as she get pistils (hairs) get your pollen and a small paint brush and

put it on.....i whould use it befor 6 months..good luck

Yeah, except you can't know which females are worthy of breeding with yet since you haven't flowered any of them. So you could do it this way, but you might end up seeding the less desirable females, which would produce seeds with less than desirable genetics being passed-on.

I would pollinate a branch off of each one carefully like MeanGreen said. This way you'll have beans of ALL your phenos. Then give away the crappier ones and save the bomb seed stock for yourself.

thanks dc i just looked at my fastest flowering male i shook him and i saw pollen fall so im gonna go get some of thoes film canisters tomorrow do i only clip the ones that have open to get the pollen or should i just gett the fatest ones also

if you open up the pollen sacks yourself, does that ruin the pollen? and i plan on storing my pollen in a film canister? how long will it last just sitting in a closet in the film can?

Ive just put some plates under the male and let the pollen fall by itself atleast i know than the pollen is untainted

Well my last seed turned out female and I sucessfully collected pollen from that male I posted about a few months ago. I just took tweezers and a little cup like the kind u pour cough suryp in, and scratched at the open balls on the male plant with the tweezers while holding the cup under them and collected a nice amount of pollen. I put a piece of saran wrap over the cup and left it in a closet untill my about last week when my last diesel ryder showed its pistils. I used a little brush like MeanGreen said and just brushed a bunch from the cup all over the top of the plant, then I layed it on its side and brushed more along all the botom pistils too, repeated again two days later. As of yesterday I can see multiple seed pods or what ever you wanna call em growing. Just wanted to let you guys know it worked out now lets just hope the genetics from the male or the female are crap

nice man, soon you'll have ALOT of seeds...try and keep her as healthy as you can. cause she mite start eatting alil more do to her being seeded..whould love to see some pics if you can?

Yea man heres sum pics shes really small still I kinda waited a little too long to transplant it and I think I may have stunted its growth abit. You should be able to see some of the seed pods developing on some of the pics if you look close

looks good. you should be able to get 100 or more beans IMO. i whould hit it again with pollen. yeah when i grow autos i transplant them after 2weeks and no later cause they get stressed so easy.

Yea I kept putting off transplanted it just never really had the time but as soon as I did she took off quick. Ive been applying more pollen every couple days usually the day after watering it, done so about 4 times now, might do it another 2-3 times. Can a plant this small really produce around 100 seeds? any way thanks alot for all the help its been real usefull this is my first time breeding.

yeah i think so..the frist autos i did got stressed aswell about the same size as yours. i hit it with pollen and got about 60 or so seeds..yours looks healthy so you should be able to do better.

how where the seeds, did they all flower automaticly?

i had diesel ryder pollened entirly, had sativa dom male and indica dom female, got nice plants but the seeds have problems germinating, the shell is so thick i have to cut it with razorblade, so the root tip can escape.

that looks fuckin tasty man yea Im rocking the joint doctors too I kinda wasted all the other seeds, had to get rid of the plants because I moved so outta the last three seeds one was dud, then i got a male, now I got this female never got to choose between a few of em so Im hoping theses seeds turn out good.

they were all fine. they flowered automaticly..as long as you have a auto female & auto male all the seeds will flower automaticly.
