British Columbia Outdoor Growing

Hey all. I havent been on the forum in several months, i took some time off of growing due to moving and whatnot. Ive had some pretty successful indoor grows over the last few year. I grew outdoors in Northern Ontario last year as well, i got 10-12 foot plants but they did not finish well.
Reason for this post is; I am moving to BC and i want to grow outdoors. I will be living in the Caribou-Chilcotin...it is central BC, hot and dry in summer. I have no experience growing in BC.
What strains would be recommended to grow outside? I plan on attempting 50 plants, last year i did 10. I know i will try out a few green crack, romulan, and timewarp....
What other strains has anyyone grown successfully and what would this forum recommend? Thanx all

I'm in the okanagan but very similar seasonal weather to the Caribou. I think the 3 you chose are great. BC Big Bud and Island Sweet Skunk would also be great choices. Both are very popular outdoor strains for BC or anywhere with similar weather but the BC Big Bud was developed here which makes it even better.

Hey I know many people that live where you do and the only one of those strains that will finish is timewarp even that's a maybe gets cold in the fall fast. If you know any one to get PG or cwarp those are your best bets they aren't the greatest strains but you need something that's done mid sept if you haven't bought seeds try rainbow wonder skunk from vsb finish sept 21. Good luck

Hey man welcome to BC. Last season I grew white grizzly, seawarp, purple pineberry, and swamp skunk. All finished for me but purple pineberry was a little late for my liking. It's "supposed" to be done mid sept but it didn't even start to flower until Aug 31st. I also grew two auto strains from crop king seeds, revolver and candy cane. Started end of march and were done Canada day. The best of em all was definitely seawarp. White grizzly is a producer but the buds are so big that you really have to be on top of them for mold near the end of flower. Hope you have a great season.

Thanx, ya i had trouble getting my plants to finish outside, the sugar black rose did OK, green crack was massive and unfinished and LA widow was OK but quite a bit of rot...the autos did fantastic

Green Crack won't finish and any haze will definitely not finish. @Cuttdogg7 is in Alaska and has a lot of posts. Maybe see what he had luck with

iranian haze finishes in BC around the first week of oct but you can make it faster if you give them high P&K and low N during the flowering phase. Iranian autoflower also finishes during our summer. Both are from Dr. Greenthumb seeds Canada. Iranian haze is extremely powerful. Both strains are feminised.

I've been using auto-fem's from Crop King (local company in the Lower Mainland)....I have had some issues but I've also had some good ones.

using auto's is so easy for outdoor growing....or in my case indoor sunshine

I KNow BC digger likes his white grizzly! You can get that at hemp depot.ca in regular seeds. I also just checked out bcseedking and if you look at their feminised they're pretty well sold out of everything except for the longer flowering strains which aren't good for BC's short summer. Getaway mountain who has his own outdoor thread makes some really good short season Maine, USA varieties. I just wish he'd open up a seed company so I could buy some and try them out myself. Texada time warp...those are good. Looks like people are getting ready for another season. Bring it on and happy growing!

I'm not running the white grizzly this season. I've been smoking it for four years so it time for a break lol. Plus I'm sick of worrying about mold on those massive buds

I do have 5 revolver autos and 3 swamps skunk x revovler started. The candy cane I tried to pop, didnt. Not impressed with crop kings candy cane. Only 2 out of 7 sprouted last year and zero out of three this year.

I'm going to try a number of varieties this Canadian summer. Really looking forward to trying out peak seeds time warp crosses, I managed to get some of the bcseedking white widow before it sold out. Also on my list is Dr. greenthumbs iranian haze which is mind numbing awesome and it just gets it under the wire in BC. Maybe some iranian auto flower. Maybe some dina fem critical 2.0 just to try it out. I'd like to test them all out for BC and see how they do. Summers coming lads! I can feel the energy coming into me for outdoor growing.
