British Petroleum and The Oil Leak in the Gulf of Mexico...

How the fuck are we (humans) gonna fix this shit? If this isn't taken care of soon, there will be adverse effects for the entire world. Like I'm thinking if this oil continues to leak the way it does at the rate it does it will cover the entire ocean in under a year, and then if a volcano erupts there could be some fucked up cataclysmic apocalypse shit. That's just me, but this oil leak is having indirect effects on everything we know, be it seafood, or the eco-life within. Ideas on how to fix this shit are needed because obviously it hasn't been fixed yet. Got any people?

Cover the ocean? Give me some of what you are smoking.
I think he means if the leak isn't fixed...

It wouldn't cover the ENTIRE ocean, but there's no telling how much oil is on that spot, and how much will be released before the well is capped.

It could very well cover the eastern seaboard if it gets taken around the currents.

They have the power to close the wellhead right now. You guys don't get it, BP is the 4th richest oil company in the world. They want to save their access to the oil instead of sealing it and having to drill all the way down again. Money baby... Need i say more?

Very misinformed post...

I have enough knowledge of the oil field to know that this leak is NOT something ANY oil company wants... as they will more than likely have to pay lawsuits and fines worth more than this well is worth.

Money baby is right, they're losing it by the barrel load!

I think bp should have to hand over the next 10 years of profits they make, this is gonna fuck up everything so bad its gonna spread and lead to a 2nd recession worse than the first one, might even bring down the whole world economy.

while i'll agree that this is something that no company would want, it seems that their only concern is how much they can "siphon off" of the leak into their "storage vessel"... not capping the leak....

regardless, our waters and coastline here are fucked

How hard would it be to suck all the oil/water mix up and separate it from the water?

Revelation 8:8 8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

sound familiar? it kinda gave me the chills.

I grew up in Louisiana, my dad worked for Falcon Seaboard, and until 05 i was with Henly Drilling. So I know the Oilfield myself too. BP has had plenty of time to pump mud in the wellhead and seal it with concrete. Instead, they try everything that has way less than 100% of working, in hopes of saving it. You're right, I know they didn't want this, but whats less expensive? Sealing and just drilling the well again? Or destroying the Gulf of Mexico and having several countries sueing you while at the same time not buying your product. Kinda a no brainer....I'm sure BP is regretting their decision. Hmmm...

Yeah they are for sure. And I watched on the news today that they are going to attempt to inject it with mud and concrete like you were saying. But they aren't going to have it done until Wednesday I think.
