Broken Stem Question...

Top cola was too heavy to be held by the stem, which obviously usually happens. It fell over and cracked the stem, its beautiful depressing clear green blood bubbled out, but it wasn't fully decapitated just broken... Made a band aid and tied wooden sticks to it, to create a new stem so that it didn't have to hold it self up anymore. It will heal correct? Should be fine? From my knowledge, it will heal fine and may only cause trauma but won't kill it. But i've heard of the "Pinching" technique. Would this be similar? Or pitching's different?
Thanks For All Answers. : )

Your right... I should of done it earlier, it was just a stupid mistake... Any info on my Pinching question?
Pinching is when you top the plant by pinching off the brand new leaves at the top of a branch or the main stem. When you do this, it will cause that stem to grow TWO tops instead of one.
