Anything really, but a white sheet of paper under daylight, under a MH or HPS, or cobs, or cfl, incandescent, t5. Just want to know what the pictures look like when forced to use the white balace for the penetrator.
A digital camera is one of the most sophisticated pieces of equipment an average person owns, we just need to trick it into telling us stories.
The last photo's I posted were using the manual white balance on a sheet of white paper under the penetrator (hence no pink hue)

As to the testing, some updates to the product line are being implemented so testing dollars will be spent after the updates have been implemented :peace:

Right, the white balnce calibrates the cameara's color palette. Taking a picture in a known source of light using the pentrator's white balace will help show how how the color of light is different, not just how the camera shows it when the wb is on auto. I think you said the light looks whiter in person than in those pics, doint this little test will show us you are not lying, you have no reason to nor do I suspect you are. I think this light can perform and the owner of the company is a lying tool because she stated a light had been sent for testing, either she loed about that or she is lyi g to you now.

lol
I see you, you want me to set the white balance under the HGL and then shoot a pic under say MH with that setting.
Will give it a whirl this evening
Don't remember HGL staying a light was actually sent but could have missed that. I know they inquired about it and then made the case that even the person at the testing lab took issue with umole/jule rating or something like that

Yeah, my recollection is that concluded with hgl capitulating saying light was sent. Besides why test new version without knowing results of the old? If the objective is to increase umol/joule then the simplest answer is to add white, we know this. If the objective is to grow plants we must do what you and hybrid are doing, foregoe manufacturers recommendations and conventional wisdom when they do not make sense. Using lettuce uncloaks the mythology. Now we still need the data to do comparisons between lights, not providing this is defrauding the community.

Strong language I know. But with legalization the skirt is being lifted on mj and some people are just covering their eyes peeking through not wanting to see the whole show.

so how long 'til i get to have my wedge salad out of this grow? i've got my red onions, bacon and homemade blue cheese dressing ready to go!!

thanks though OHD for posting this grow and being honest about the results. these are like 60 day varieties, correct?
Better, shorter. IIRC cornel went for 35 days?

@OneHitDone did a light ever get sent to the user with cmh? I am not positive who it was but I am not finzding a thread.

Yo @Lordhooha What ever happened to your HGL light test journal brother?
She wanted me to do clones so I’m working on growing a strain out to take some clones. I had originally planned to use the plants that popped right when the light was sent but she wanted clones so just working on getting a few good plants that are strong and cloning the piss out of em

Here we are 5 days later at Day 16
The "Bonsai effect" was kinda set in from too high of an intensity but they are now starting to stretch out a bit.

Went ahead and potted the second test batch of lower intensity seedlings into some perlite so they can grow out a bit further.
Led plants had to be stuffed between the back hydro channel and the wall of the tent. Not really ideal but didn't want to interfere with the main plants light availability.
