Brown hairs and Trichomes

Do the pistils turn brown before the trichomes take off? Flowers are good-size & dense but have hardly-spectacular trichomes.

Thanks for some insight.

Okay.

I can see the trichomes but they seem small. Seems last time I could see the little balls.

I had some ph & nute problems a couple weeks ago. All fixed now. I want to avoid couch-lock high.

As far as I understand, when the trichomes start to turn amber, it's time to chop the whole thing and hang it upside down for 1 week.

Thanks!

Get a x60 loupe and you'll see them trichomes alot easier there only cheap on amazon or ebay then you'll be able to see them when they're cloudy then that will be a good time to chop if your not wanting a couch lock effect

Couch lock occurs when they get too ripe?

What would you say the optimum temperature and humidity is for blooming? Thanks:peace:

I keep my room no hotter than 80 degrees. Humidity stays at 27 to 35% for flower and 55 to 60 for flower. Lower humidity during flower cause the plant to cover in trichromes to protect itself.

Do you mean: at 27 to 35% for flower and 55 to 60 for veg?

Oh, 55° to 60° that helps! Yeah, I running way-high on temp :(

Yah the two were the humidity 27 to 30 for flower and 55 to 60% for veg my temp stays at 75 but no higher than 80 degrees. But all 3 of my grow rooms are zoned controlled to keep them dialed in depending on what stage they're at.

Correction when the trichomes are mostly cloudy they will give you an uplifting high and this is when THC is at its peek, if you wait for them to turn amber or start you went past the peek and will get a couch lock high by the way what week are you in for flowering? Trichombs start to really go nuts around week 5 or 6

Thanks, I'm close to week 6. I'm not seeing the trichomes very much (maybe 4 inches is too close to the lights) on the top leafs but inside I'm seeing more dense ones on little leafs.

I just got a pic for you. I should have been looking farther down. You're right, between 5 6 week!!

I left my space heater on all day , I changed the fan placement to make it cooler. I thought todays average 82° was just normal but NO I left the heater on :wall:. Going to get in the 60s tonight and low 70s during light hours.

I'm thinking about giving it a couple more hours dark time to give longer / more cooler temperature?

Sorry, can't upload a pic. Damn hackers!

I'm going to get the microscopic camera out tomorrow.

I'm closer to harvest than I thought but I forgot about Flushing. I am in plain old dirt. I would guess actually flushing them ( running water through them until it's clear) instead of just stopping adding the nutes to the regular water?

How long does the flushing usually last?

you probably if in week six still have 2 to 3 weeks left most strains are 8 to 9 weeks flower some go 11 or 12, but if you will turn your grow lite off and turn flash on your camera on and take a pic of your plant in the dark and let that flash light it up you will see you have more tricombs then you realize lol, and yes if your using a HPS or MH 4inches is too close to the plants, dont get in a hurry to harvest patience is a virtue if you harvest too early it wont be worth your time wait until most trichs are cloudy. As for flushing i basically started giving straight water when about half my hairs had turned orange or brown and watered straig water 1 gal in a 5 gal pot ever 2 to 3 days for last 2 to 3 weeks of flower
