Brown Spots! +reps

On some of my smaller seedlings that are 10 days old a couple of them are starting to get tiny brown spots on the leaves. I have been having issues with ph and just started nutes at 1/4. I am running the ebb and grow system with hydroton as my medium. I have a couple of pics. They are kinda hard to see because they are tiny and light.

What kind of nutes are you using? What are you using for pH problems? Rez Temps? Did you wash the hydroton REALLY good?

Rez temps should stay between 65-70. Not saying that is your problem, but try to get it around 67 if possible. You may be having pH issues if there is light getting into your rez thru your hydroton in the net pots. Put a cover over the hydroton, something like a paper plate cut to fit. Wouldn't think that would happen unless the rez was like 75 or had algae in the rez. If you have algae then that would affect pH as well. If you have brown sludgy looking stuff around the bottom of the pot then wash the net pot and rinse the hydroton again. I rinsed mine well I thought but ended up washing it again about 2 weeks into the grow. I'm just giving you ideas of what to check. Maybe someone else will chime in with better answers.

Thanks BluBerry. I picked my pots up and the inside of the outter pot looks clean. My rez is not in my grow room.

Yea I kinda got that idea that your rez was outside, but at first I was thinking DWC in a Rubbermaid.

And they just started showing brown spots when you added the nutes? Are you using Cal-Mag? If not then maybe get some

I just started using 1/4 nutes on Friday and the spots started showing up yesterday. Im using Technaflora and going by the recipe for success just using 1/4.

Once your plants have established root systems, they are ready to begin vegetative growth on an 18-hour light cycle.
Changing your reservoir once weekly, apply the following VEGETATIVE formula each week consistently throughout
the vegetative cycle until plants reach your desired height.
Mix the following nutrients for every 4 litres (1 gallon) of water to create the VEGETATIVE formula.
B.C Boost
– 15 ml (3 tsp)

B.C Grow
– 7.5 ml (1½ tsp)

Thrive Alive B-1 Red
– 2.5 ml (½ tsp)

MagiCal
– 2.5 ml (½ tsp)

SugarDaddy
– 10 ml (2 tsp)

For
soil/soilless mediums, use this solution in the sequence of FEED, WATER, WATER throughout the vegetative cycle.
For
hydroponic mediums, the solution can be fed with every irrigation cycle.

genuineapbts hey drop the nutes, sounds like a burn due to a ph lock up, flush your system then start back at the nute at 1/2 the mix
of what you are doing now. now im curius did having nutes in there help balance that ph?

Thanks Hellraizer!
Not really. Plus I think my ph meter might be off. I have to go get the stuff today to check it. My ph went up to 7.3-7.5 and they grew like crazy. So I dont know what the hell is going on. I will do a flush tonight and hopefully that will help. Do you think they will be ok or will they die? I will also try to get some better pics of the problem.

dude get a cheap PH dropper kit there like 5$ I know there not ideal but its sure way to get your ph in the 5 range
and thats all you need. if nutes arent helping any with the ph then drop them, til you can test ph properly. and
do a flush asap this issue will only get worse and will kill your shit!

Sorry...lol...I guess I am pretty stupid because Im not sure what a ph dropper kit is? Do you mean like ph down? Because thats what Ive been using. Or is it something to test the ph? Idk Im getting ready to go to the hydro store and see what I can find. My ppms are at 440 with nutes and 180 without nutes. I put in 1/4.

Well found out what the problem was... Its a deficency from the ph. My flippin meter was off by 1.3. So when I kept putting in the ph down it was acutally lowering it down into the 4s. So mad at myself right now. The ph right now is at 5.8 and I didnt do a res change yet. So what should I do? SHould I still do the res change and redo the nutes or just leave it? How long do you think it takes for the nute lock to resolve?

THANKS!
