Well butane hash oil was great but now I'm ready for the next evolution into bubble hash!

I have zero experience with bubble hash so I'm relying on y'all to throw out some good information regarding your experiences and successes for the benefit of the community here on RIU.

This weekend I'm purchasing a set on ebay (most likely) but in the meantime I'm interested in hearing from some of the bubble hash pros here on RIU to give us all some insight on how this process works best.

Anything and everything is welcome......lay it on me!

Comments welcome!!!!!!

Careful with the ebay bags. Mine I needed to do a little more stitching on the bag and screen. Just check before you use!

Butane hash is great but it tears up the lungs pretty good! I'm a fan of bubble just can't stand making the shit! It seems like such a laborious process that takes hours when done properly. I've now since turned to dry ice hash and haven't used ice and water since. You simply replace the water and ice with dry ice. Put your trim in the bag along with a few lbs of dry ice, shake over a table or collecting area. Scrape the shake together, press it, and let it dry. It's the easiest concentrate to make by far. Just youtube dry ice hash, you'll find a ton of videos.
You can purchase dry ice at most local gas suppliers, i.e. praxair, airgas, etc. I've been told meijer sells it as well but not sure on that one. I picked up sprung bags online a few years back and they still work great. http://www.sprungbags.com/index.php

Beat me to the punch - my ebay bags were more or less useless. Spend a bit more and get the original bubble bags.

Try dry ice hash bro, been making bubble, bho, butter for a few years now. Tried the Dry ice hash technique fell in love with it, gonna be doing it with 3 different sets of trimmings this weekend. I do it with the 160 and comes out extremely gold to where it clumps up in the jar into medium sized balls. Very quick, ease, and zero mess at all. also costs about 5$ for the dry ice :-D

I bought a set of 8 bags from amazon I think. It was not the name brand bubble bags, but they have been perfectly functional, no problems whatsoever. I can look up exactly what they are if you want when I get home. It was the 5 gallon set. I think it's a bit of a pain in the ass to deal with 8 bags, especially since the difference in grades between the sizes doesn't seem to be much. I don't even like smoking it all that much. My weed is high enough quality that I don't need the hash, and smoking a whole bowl of hash fucks with my sinuses and throat - it's too harsh and smoky. It does get you ripped though. I don't separate by grade anymore, and I use it exclusively for cooking.

I use the smallest bag, the 2nd largest, and the largest. Put smallest bag in bucket, followed by 2nd largest, then largest. Alternate layers of ice and pre frozen trimmings or bud (already chopped/ground up). Fill with water (ice will float, so don't try to fill above hash/ice or you will overflow bucket). Use a paint stirrer attached to drill for about 5 minutes to stir the shit out of it. Remove top 2 bags (don't dispose of material). Remove 25 micron bag (you will need to agitate violently. Hash will settle on screen and block holes not allowing water to drain. You need to shake it up to fluff the hash off the screen and keep it from settling). After all water is drained grip wad of hash from underside of bag and flip the bag inside out. Spread the screen/bag over a bowl or something so you can scrape the hash off a taught screen. Place hash onto your 25 micron non-bag-screen they give you, and fold it over on top of hash. Place between layers of bath towels and compress. Remove hash and place on card board to dry. Replace bags and repeat procedure to get more hash out of trimmings. I only get about 25-35% of total yield from the first run. I usually run through the process about 7-10 times, or until I think further effort is no longer worth the diminishing yields. I recommend breaking hash up into a powder while it's still wet and leaving on cardboard. Once it drys into a clump it is very sticky and tends to have the consistency of tar - very difficult to evenly distribute in baked goods.

I use the final product in peanut butter cookies. about 3 grams into 1 package of betty crocker peanut butter mix. Mix dry hash in with dry cookie mix, then add other ingredients. Cook about 25-50*F less than package says, and for a few minutes less. Cookies will be undercooked, but will dry and solidify. Yields about 25-35 cookies depending on size and will fuck you up good.

Guy is right about the 8 bag systems. The more bags the more of a pain in the ass IMO. Anything under 75 micron or so is pretty tough to use as your going to end up pushing material through from beating the hell out of it. I really only use 2 or 3 bags now, just dry ice instead of the old water and ice method.
I typically wait till i have a few paper grocery bags full of trim to make the job more worthwhile. Great for cooking as mentioned above.

I love my bubble bags. Haven't had anything but sucsess with them. Like others I now use the 2 largest and the 3 or 4 smallest bags.
Use lots of ice and make sure you spend a lot of time mixing. 1/2 hr is about what I do and then let it settle for another 10 to 15 before I start straining them.

Then I run it all through a second time and pick up even more..

Then if you want to get into it, use your hash waste to make butter using the crock pot slow 2 /3 day cook.

220micron....pretty much the highest micron you have. You can refine it later if you want.

Never seen the dry ice method before. I'm gonna have to give that a go! Sitting there for a half hour with a mixer blows. Also check out this site for bags. http://www.virtualsunhydroponics.com/Agricultural/nav/Bubble-Bags.asp
Actually the grow light kits from there are crazy cheap. I'm assuming they're shit, but for 300 bucks I'm gonna try one.
