well i'm guessing your gonna need to have nute schedule, plus if its hydro check your ph regularly, your ppm, temps, humidity... etc. etc.

exactly what kinda answer are you looking for?

my question was simple. I dont need to know about lights or anything, just my question.

Am I able to just put the seeds into the system and have them grow by themselves?

because on their site it has the rockwool cube get wet, when he didnt put any water on it.

If you're using net pots suspended over the water, you just have to make sure that at first, your medium is like 1 inch into the water. It will then wick up the appropriate amount of moisture to the seeds without having to water them from over head. Then, as your roots grow, you can gradually lower the water level.

I'm going with a bubbleponics system, using rockwool cubes and hydroton in net pots. Just make sure you have enough oxygen in your water :)

I don't raise my water, I moisten my rockwool about 2 hours before let the drip system keep my rockwool moist and cover with little plastic plates over each net pot to keep the humidity up

Aye. You can soak the rockwool cubes before placing the seed inside. But if he's using a true bubbleponics system, the medium has to be in contact with the water, even if indirectly or the cubes will dry out. (By indirectly I mean close enough to the water that the bubbles will splash the medium constantly)

After the roots are established, the medium no longer needs contact with the water, as the roots will get it directly from the water in the reservoir.

I suppose it doesn't really matter HOW you keep the cubes from drying out before root formation, just so long as you do. :blsmoke:

K i own a SH bubbleponic, it has a pump and tubing to supply water to your rockwool till the roots hit the water. from there on out your choice of keeping the water pump on.

This guy's got it dude. The thing is, if ur using a true bubbleponic unit, then you're going to have the bonuses of DWC and a drip system. Like what this guy said. Then all you have to do from there is decide whether or not you want to run the pump, ur roots will be sitting in the DW solution.

so once the roots touch the water you dont need to run the pump, just the airpump for the airstones.can you use a fogger or mister i think thats what their called, gygax i believe has one, instead of a pump drip system.

The only thing I am concerned about is the size of the stealth hydro units. In reality they are only big enough to grow two plants from seed and if I were going to grow from seed in a dwc or aero system I would most seriously use feminized seeds so that I didn't have to untangle and deal with male roots and female roots getting tangled.

Just my two cents.
