Ok where I work , I can gather a lot of the supplies I need for dwc , so my question is how to seterlize 5 gallon buckets, I got 6 heavy duty black buckets with lids the only thing is is that the buckets had ice melt in them is there a way to disinfect and or sanitize these buckets so I can use them, thanx

rinse them out..

They are grow buckets, not an artificial heart. You can swish some bleach or h2o2 around in them if it makes you feel better but remember, you aren't growing in a clean room.

Wash them out with a bit of dish soap in warm water. Rinse.

Put a tablespoon or 2 of Clorox (laundry bleach) in a gallon of water and slosh a little around inside or spray it on with a mister.

Let it air dry a day.

That thing is now way cleaner than the hands of the guy who made the burger you just ate at McDriveThroughs

I scrub them with a sponge and some antibacterial soap.

If I get some buildup I can not remove easily, I use bathroom cleaner.
