Budder vs. Honey Oil

how could you get air to mix with heated oil?
hot air rises.
if anything, air bubbles that were dissolved into the oil would surface and be realeased into the atmosphere from heat and agitation.
buy some budder.
its sticky,flakey powder.
not full of air bubbles

if you want flaky powder just let it dry long enough. :eyesmoke:

Everybody pretty much fails in this post except like 3 people, my explanation is correct i am like 99% sure although i wrote that super stoned it does make sense. you guys wanna see real budder? check out my BHO topic, i have step by step or anything but i have few different products i have ended up with. The picture in my avatar was on of my best runs ever, you can tell that there is NO air incorporated into it... was hard as a fucking rock. anybody who smokes it will know. https://www.rollitup.org/toke-n-talk/436569-my-bho-budder.html

by "whipping" the oil you are adding air bubbles to it.

3rd grade stuff there. ;)
Sorry for the double post but i missed this the first time, Fdd, you know alot about chronic, can you please explain to me how you think you are adding air bubbles to it?

have you ever made "whipped cream"? the whole point of "whipping" something is to add air to it.

How does that apply to this? two totally different things.... i dont even whip budder you just run a pin/fork/whatever through it to "agitate" it, sorry man i dont deny that you have a vast knowledge of marijuana but im almost positive you are wrong here.

So then "whipping" introduces air molecules which enables it to expand and go from a molten to a more solid state? I wonder if budderking named it budder because its like churning butter...

I think this is very interesting now.

So there's probably no doubt that stuff will evaporate from the oil while heating and whipping - if that was not the case no heat would be necessary - right?

So we have 2 different theories:
1: Some say we whip air into oil making it into a steady foam - like whipped cream.
In this theory we think that air bubbles get trapped inside the oil while whipping.

2: We heat up the oil to release stuff by agitation.
To me this sounds like a pretty good explanation too. Only have a couple of bugs that probably can be debugged fast: When we end up with high quality oil there are no more butane left as far as i know. So what boils inside the oil would be... essential oils? I'm not a scientist, but i would think that this theory supports that something boils inside the oil leaving the airbubbles/gasses inside the oil making it into foam this way?

I start to believe theory 2 could be true - but some of the explanations here are just foolish claiming that this will add more THC to the substance. I guess most of us are pretty agreed that there will be no more grams of THC (and other cannabinoids) in the oil or budder.
If it's true that you'll end up with less grams of budder than you started with in oil then something definately evaporates leaving the budder more potent (pr. weight).

Can anybody tell me just fairly - how much volume is the budder compared to oil. Does it get twice as big or how much does it "foam up"?

My oil "foams up" when I vacuum purge because the air and butane are being pulled out. Budder "foams up" becasue air is being added. Some poeple will tell you a vacuum is not necessary and is a waste of money. But the people who have actually tried it say its the best tasting smoothest smoking oil they've ever had. The reason for that is becasue whipping only removes a majority of the butane, the only way I know of to extract almost ALL of the butane from the oil is by vacuum pressure and seal.

when i think budder i think whipped up and heated bho...... when you whip it you mix more air into it making it easier to handle... you also fully purge all the very small amounts of butane leftover.... now heating it does something that really setts it apart.... its called Decarboxylation..... it makes all the diffrence in the world..... and that end result is much better then what i would call bho..

Nobody is saying you are ADDING thc to budder... you are taking out the extra weight that is NOT thc, which therefore increases the % of thc in regards to total weight... and Fdd, your just being ignorant, i never claimed mine was the best but i am sure it is a high quality. All i asked for was an explanation of why you think that.

One of the attached drawings earlier showed an increase in THC, which most of us probably agree is off course not the case.

An increase in THC in regards to the overall weight of the budder is what he ment to draw im pretty sure it just isnt to scale.. its a paint drawing, if that is not what he ment i am unsure but that is my opinion.

i really have no reason to argue over any of this. i do NOT care. :eyesmoke:
meh if you think this is an argument sure, its not an issue to me i am just curious as to the reasoning behind it, i wouldnt make budder like i do now if i didn't ask alot of people questions about their method of making bho. the method i use i would say combines about 5-8 different peoples methods to make my own which in my opinion is the best that I have found, which is why i am always in bho/budder topics to try and find ways to make it better.
